Industrial visit by Second and Third year mechanical students to Gokul-shirgaon MIDC, Kolhapur on 25/03/2023

Industrial visit to Gokul Milk Processing Unit and Supreme Casting Private Limited were carried out on 25th March 2023 in Gokul Shirgaon MIDC, Kolhapur. Total 105 students of Second and Third year Mechanical Engineering was participated in this visit. Various Milk Processing Techniques, Air Conditioning unit, etc as well as Casting activities (Pattern shop, Moulding, Machining, Finishing, packaging) was studied by the students. Sincere efforts are taken by the HOD of Mechanical Engineering Department Mr. A. J. Rane, Mr. A. G. Yadav, Mr. S. H. Sawant, Mr. M.R. Ghatage, Mr. P. P. Dakare, Mr. D. J. Patil and Mr. Tejas Naik to make this visit successful.

Won first prize in state level project competition by third year mechanical engineering students on 24/03/2023.

Yash Parab, Kaif Quareshi, Parthiv Talavnekar & Tanish Sawant of Third Year Mechanical Engineering students of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology Sawantwadi Won First Prize in the state level Project Competition held at SSPM College of Engg, Kankavli.

Students from mechanical engineering placed in various reputed industries in the month of March 2023.

Many students from third year 2022-23 batch are placed in various national and multi-national industries. 22 students are placed in KSPG automotive ltd, 12 students in Bajaj Auto Ltd, and 10 students are shortlisted in General Electric, pune respectively. Overall 34 and more students from mechanical engineering are selected in various industries. Other students applied for higher studied in mechanical engineering. Management, Principal, HOD and staff congratulated placed candidates.

MSBTE Winter 2022 result announced on 22/02/2023.

MSBTE Winter 2022 Result of Second and Third year Mechanical Engineering was declared on 22nd February 2023. From second year, Aniruddha A Naik secured first rank with 88.11%, Suyog C Joshi secured second rank with 87.16% and Kshitij S Bhusannavar secured third rank with 84.84%. Also from third year Manish T Rawool secured first rank with 86.95% marks. Manish Y Rawool and Satyam S Sawant secured second and third rank with 78.48% and 78.00% marks. All successful students are congratulated by the Principal, HOD and all faculties of Mechanical Department.

Mock Fire Safety Drill for All first year student on 14/12/2022.

Mock Fire Safety Drill for All first year student has been successfully Conducted on 14/12/2022 BKC Ground under supervision of Mr. P. K. Parab, Mr.V. S. Powar, Mr. R R Kadam along with Instructor Mr.D. J Patil, Mr.P. P. Dakare and Mr S.. K. parab. Initially, Theoretical concept of Fire Fighting Systems in Indistruy and Carrier opportunities in Fire Fighting sector explained by Mr. Milind Desai sir through power point presentation. Practical Procedure to use a fire extinguisher has demonstrated by Mr. D. J. Patil. Students shown active participation in mock drill.

Guest lecture on Fire safety & "Career guidance" on 13/12/2022.

Department of Mechanical Engineering organised a guest lecture for the students of TYME class on Fire safety & "Career guidance" by Mr. Nikhil Pandharpatte & Mr. Jitendra Acharya on 13th December 2022. Mr. Jitendra Acharya gave information in career opportunities & guidance after degree courses. Mr. Nikhil Pandharpatte gave information of NEBOSH international general certification course in occupational health, safety and opportunities. Introduction of guests was done by Mr. M.R.Desai & Mr. V. S. Powar sir and welcome of guests was done by HOD of Mechanical Department Mr. A. J. Rane Sir.

Career guidance seminar on Marine Engineering career on 25/11/2022

Training and Placement Cell of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi successfully organized Career guidance seminar on "Marine Engineering career" for Third year mechanical students . For this Chief Engineer Mr Adwait Londhe (HOD-Marine Engineering) from MANET, MIT , Pune was present as a Expert Speaker. Mrs Anjalee Gade also guided students about career opportunities in merchant navy. Guruvandana initiative Manet fellicitated YBIT Principal Mr G A Bhosale sir for good performance of our alumni at Manet.

For this program Mechanical HOD A J Rane sir, Electrical HOD B M Patil sir, Mr M T Patil sir , Ms S N Hewalekar mam, Ms Teja Shenai man were present. More than 150 students were present from Mechanical and Electrical departments.

Webinar for Third year mechanical students on 23/11/2022

Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi successfully conducted Webinar for Third year students of Mechanical Department on 23/11/2022. Dr. M. S. Kirkire sir from FAMT, Ratnagiri guided students on topic Industry 4.0 . This is under the industry 4.0 skill development. Industry 4.0 is revolutionizing the way companies manufacture, improve and distribute their products. Manufacturers are integrating new technologies, including Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing and analytics, and AI and machine learning into their production facilities and throughout their operations. These smart factories are equipped with advanced sensors, embedded software and robotics that collect and analyze data and allow for better decision making. Even higher value is created when data from production operations is combined with operational data from ERP, supply chain, customer service and other enterprise systems to create whole new levels of visibility and insight from previously gained information.

Mechanical Engineering Department successfully conducted an offline parent meeting on 19/11/2022 for Second and Third-year students and their parents in our college. In this meeting, Mechanical Engineering Department HOD Mr. A. J. Rane, TPO head Mr. M. R. Desai, parents representative Mr. Prashant Satam and Mr Charudatta Joshi, meeting coordinator Mr. S. H. Sawant, Mr. A. G. Yadav. and Mr. M. R. Desai and all mentors of second year and third year Mechanical Engineering Department were present. Mr. S. H. Sawant gave welcome speech, he introduced the all teachers and told the objective of this meeting. TPO Head Mr. M. R. Desai explained importance of implant training activities and how it is beneficial in placements. Also explain about our recruiters and feature planning about placement activity.

Industrial visit by Second year mechanical students to Sahyadri Engineering Works on 09/11/2022

Industry institute interaction has been carried out for SY ME A and B class with Sahyadri Engineering Works , located in Majgaon, Sawantwadi on 09/11/2022 . This is the leading organization which produces various Impellers and exhaust fans for air conditioning systems, inspection of components by various gauges, measuring instruments, balancing machine…..etc are observed by the students, also the mechanical drawings of the components being manufactured are shown to the students. Students are guided by Mr. Uday Tamboskar and he also motivated students to do innovative projects.
He also highlighted importance of discipline in career.

This visit had been coordinated by Mr. R B Giryalkar and Mr. S H Sawant of mechanical department, YBIT. 87 students were present for this industrial visit.

Industrial visit by Second year mechanical students to Hindustan Polymers Ltd on 09/11/2022

On 09th November 2022, Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an industrial visit at Hindustan Polymer for Second Year Mechanical Engineering students to gain additional knowledge in the field Mechanical Engineering Materials. Mr. Satpute given information about company, organization structure products, manpower etc. Students observed organization layout and various departments. Hindustan polymer produced Teflon based products. These products are manufactured by powder metallurgy process. Students got knowledge about powder compacting using hydraulic press, sintering, heating of material in furnace.

Students also seen conventional lathe and CNC lathe used for turning, facing, drilling, chamfering. CNC operator shown demonstration of CNC programming and turning. Components are produced as per requirement of customer drawing. In Quality control department all finished products were inspected using vernier calliper, micrometre, Go and No-Go gauges to check quality of products. This visit had been coordinated by Mr. P. K. Parab & Mr. S. S. Lanjekar For this industrial visit 90 students were present.

State level technical quiz competition by MESA on 15/09/2022

Mechanical Engineering Department successfully conducted an online event on “State level technical quiz competition” which was organized on 15th September 2022 on the occasion of ‘Engineers Day’. On this occasion YBIT Principal, Mr. G.A.Bhosale, Mechanical department incharge HOD Mr. A J Rane, MESA coordinator Mr A G Yadav, event coordinator Mr. S. S. Lanjekar & all teaching staff graced the event. All participants had shown enthusiastic participation in the program. There were total 137 students had registered for this quiz from Maharashtra State.

Poster presentation competition on Tree Plantation on 08/08/2022

राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना NSS UNIT YBIT आणि Training & Placement cell यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने Save Trees, Save Earth हा उपक्रम सोमवार दिनांक 08/08/2022 रोजी राबविण्यात आला. शैक्षणिक जीवनात अभ्यासाबरोबर इतर उपक्रमां मध्ये सहभागी होऊन नवीन गोष्टी शिकणे ही काळाची गरज आहे. विद्यार्थ्यांचा सर्वांगीण विकास होणे ही खूप गरजेची गोष्ट आहे. यासाठी यशवंतराव भोसले पॉलीटेक्निक, सावंतवाडी सदैव कार्यरत असते. याचाच एक भाग म्हणून आज (Flash Card & Poster Presentation) हा पहिला उपक्रम यशस्वीरित्या पूर्ण केला. यामध्ये पॉलिटेक्निकमधील विविध विभागातून विद्यार्थ्यांनी सहभाग दर्शविला. 3D Printer Project model and research paper by TYME students on May 2022

Final year students from Mechanical department, Sumit Kudalkar, Vaibhav Gokharankar, Siddhesh Ajgaonkar, Sail Tari, Rutwik Sawant have published a research paper in “International Research Journal of modernization in Engineering Technology and Science | Volume:04/Issue:05, May 2022 | ISSN (online): 2582-5208” under the guidance of Mr. Amrut Yadav. The research topic was “CHECK VARIOUS PARAMETERS OF 3D PRINTER”. 3D printers are distinguished from other configuration and manufacturing technologies in that they provide easier, faster and less costly solutions, as well as allowing the design of complex configurations that need to overlap many normal manufacturing processes. As a result of the importance of this technology, many countries have seen the importance of spreading awareness of its importance in addition to training students on how to use it. 3D printing continues to amaze us with its capabilities and uses, and we hope to see it available in all schools and universities well so that students can have the space for creativity and innovation.

Expert lecture for TYME on “Mechanical Engineer's Role in Industry” on 30/04/2022

On 30th April 2022 Mechanical Department organized an expert lecture on "Mechanical Engineer's Role in Industry".
For this expert lecture Mr Sudheer Tatode, Process Manager from Creative Manufacturing Systems, Banda was present. He covered topic like various departments in industry, expectations from fresh engineers, skill set requirements, communication skill importance etc. At the end of the session, department gave momento to Mr. Sudheer Tatode. On this occasion Mechanical HOD Mr. A. J. Rane, Mr. M. R. Desai, Mr. R. B. Giryalkar, Mr. V. S. Powar were present.

ISTE Approved Self-Financed online State Level Technical Paper Presentation “TECHXELLENCE 2K22” conducted by Mechanical Department on 26/04/2022

ISTE Sponsored Self-Financed State Level Technical Paper Presentation Competition ‘TECHXELLENCE 2K22’ is conducted by Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi. Total 90 participants (49 Groups) participated in this event. For this Event Dr. Mahesh Satam Sir Vice Principal of SSPM COE Kankavli, Mr S. S. Joshi Sir. Lecturer in Computer Engineering Department, Government Polytechnic Malavan. Mr. Harshal Pawar Sir, Lecturer in Electrical Engineering Department, Y.B.P. Sawantwadi and Ms. Mayuri Diwan Madam HOD Civil Engineering Department worked as a jury member. In Prize Distribution Ceremony Ms. T.R Shenai, Welcome all the all guest member jury member and participant. Dr. Mahesh Satam Sir Vice Principal of SSPM COE Kankavli shears their views about presentation and he guides the entire participant about how to prepare the presentation and how to deliver it.

Third year mechanical engineering students excelled in Technical paper presentation on 30th and 31st March 2022

● Kapil Malgaonkar and Shreyas Mane from Third year Mechanical engineering students of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology secured third prize in MSBTE Sponsored Technical Paper Presentation organized by Government Polytechnic Gadchiroli. They received certificate and cash prize of 5000/- They presented paper with title " Design of Low cost all wheel drive bike ".
● Sandesh Sawant and Abhishek Gawade from Third year Mechanical engineering of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology secured second prize in State Level Technical Paper Presentation organized by Pravin Patil College of Diploma Engineering and Technology in association with ISTE.They presented paper with title " Design of Portable electric power tiller machine".

Second Year Mechanical A and B Division (90 Students) of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi has successfully completed Industrial Visit at V. J. Industries (Britona Plastics), Sawantwadi on 29th March 2022. Industrial visit to Kashalikar Autocare, Majagao. Sawantwadi by TYME students on 26/03/2022

Third year Mechanical engineering students (84 candidates) Successfully conducted Industrial visit for 6th semester Mechanical engineering students at on 26th March 2022. This Industrial visit is relevant to Automobile engineering (22656) course. Staff coordinators for this visit were Mr. M. T. Patil, Mr. P P Dakare. The students have observed & understood about Various Automobile systems, Use & application of various sensors used in automobiles, Various types of maintenance work related to automobile vehicles.

Expert Lectures on "Futuristic Automotive Technologies" for TYME students conducted on 12/03/2022

Mechanical Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi successfully conducted an Expert Lecture on "Futuristic Automotive Technologies" on 12th march 2022. For Inauguration function HOD Mr A. J. Rane, TPO head Mr M R Desai and Speaker Dr. Milind S Yadav were present. Dr. Milind S Yadav is Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Finolex Academy of Management and Technology, Ratnagiri . He Has persued PhD in Automobile Engineering. He fullfilled the students minds with the knowledge of present as well as Future upcoming Automotive technologies in India as well as across the world. Workshop on “Electric Vehicles” for TYME students on 06/03/2022

Mechanical Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi successfully conducted Workshop on Electric Vehicles in collaboration with IVOOMI Innovation Pvt Ltd and MESA on 5th and 6th march 2022. For Inauguration function Principal Mr. G. A. Bhosale, HOD Mr A. J. Rane and Speaker Mr. Nihar Gawade were present. Mr. Nihar Gawade is the Alumni of Mechanical Department from 2017 batch . He started his Electric vehicles business. In this workshop he covered Overview of EV, Design parameter, Battery management system, Assembly, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Precaution, Challenges faced by EV industries. Also displayed 2 EV bike where he showed assembly and all parts. MESA gave memento to Mr. Gawade. Program was coordinated by Mr. M. R. Desai and Mr. M. T. Patil.

Felicitation of toppers for exam result announced on March 2022

MSBTE Winter 2021 Result of Second and Third year Mechanical Engineering was declared in the month of march 2022. From second year, Yash Parab secured first rank with 90.95%, Manish Rawool secured second rank with 90.00% and Kevin D’souza secured third rank with 81.68%. Also from third year Tejas Chavan secured first rank with 90.48% marks. Sakharam Sawant and Jericho almeida secured second and third rank with 87.52 % and 87.43% marks. The felicitation was done by the Principal and HOD with certificates and awards, faculties congratulated all the successful students.

Technical Study tour to “KIT EXCELLENCE CENTER” in KIT's college of Engineering, Kolhapur for TYME students on 17/12/2021

Students from third year Mechanical Engineering visited. Students observed the demonstrations shown on various advanced labs. It includes CMM, 3D printing machine, Mechatronics lab, CNC Machine, Industry 4.0. Faculties from KIT have shown detailed demonstrations about advanced modified laboratories. Third year Mechanical engineering students (84 candidates) successfully attended Industrial visit at “New Supreme Casting & Machining”, Gokul-Shirgaon MIDC, Kolhapur on 17-12-2021. Mechanical Engineering department and TPO cell conducted various expert lectures and events for development of students. On 29th September 2021, Mr. M. T Patil sir arranged expert lecture on “CAD/CAM and CNC Programming”. Mr. Nitin Wakode, Director, Mastarcam, Deccan IT Technologies was the guest expert for this lecture. All the expert lectures are conducted in Online Mode and using YouTube and Zoom meeting. Mr. M. T Patil Sir was the Staff Coordinator for these Events.

Mechanical Engineering department and TPO cell conducted various expert lectures and events for development of students. On 25th July 2020 TPO cell conducted expert lecture on Career opportunities on RTO cell. Assistant Inspector of motor vehicle Mr. Nagnath Sawant was the guest for this event. He gave detail information regarding opportunities for engineers in Government Services such as RTO, Railway and Power Generation.

Industrial visit to V J Industries Sawantwadi for Class S.Y.M.E. On date 14/02/2020

This visit was arranged under the 2nd year curriculum of Program Mechanical Engineering for course â€œManufacturing Processâ€. As per I scheme syllabus the information related to plant layout, working of Extrusion, injection and blow moulding machine Students were mentored and guided by owner and other staff members on various aspects of the unit. Student observed actual machine setup, machine and die setting process, control units and processing measures and safety precaution.

It provides platform for students to go beyond their academic and explore their hidden talent. It is meant to motivate the students for doing research work in technical field. Hon. An industrial visit of Class TYME students was arranged to Gokul Milk Processing Unit, Kolhapuri on 18/01/2020 .Student observed refrigeration and air conditioning system of organisation, various components of air conditioning unit such as compressor, evaporative type condenser, expansion and evaporation unit.

Industrial visit to ITI for Class T.Y.M.E. A & B

An industrial visit of Class TYME students was arranged to ITI Sawantwadi on 16/09/2017 to understand Advance Manufacturing Process. Under this subject the main objective was to observe the practical working, functions and different parts of machines like product lathe, production milling, radial drill, CNC milling, CNC lathe etc. The visit was planned as per the directives of the subject AMP of TYME. Practical demonstration of machines was done by ITI workshop instructor Mr.Vhaval & Mr.Konde.

Industrial visit to Hindustan Polymer by Class S.Y.M.E. A and B

Class SYME students visited Hindustan Polymer, Majgaon to understand process of powder metallurgy, sintering process & compacting of various machines. The visit was conducted under the subject PPO as per the curriculum. Practical demonstration of various processes was effectively done by Managing Director himself Mr.M.D. Deshpand & Production Head Mr. Gopalkrishnaa. Students made the visit under the supervision of Mr. A. U. Shirsat, Mr. A. G. Yadav, M.R.Desai & Mr. P.S.Gawande.

Training for ITI Students under CEP Program

Under the C.E.P. (Continuous education program), a training session had been arranged for the students of ITI Sawantwadi. The students were exposed to two topics mainly, Basics of AutoCAD & Introduction to CNC Machine. AutoCAD session was conducted by Mr. Milind Desai & Mr. M. T. Patil. Later Mr P.K. Parab, Mr. A.U. Shirsat & Mr. B.D. Sawant made the introduction to CNC Workshop. Earlier all the students were duly welcomed in the TPO department.

Recent trends in Design Engineering

On 10th Feb 2017 Mr Usman Khan from Larsen and Toubro Mumbai delivered a lecture on â€œRecent Trends in Design engineeringâ€. He is a qualified mechanical engineer and has above 40 years of experience in design field. He explained design procedure in simple words to the students. He also described the difference between how the design was being prepared during 80â€™s or 90â€™s and the modern technological advancement in CAD/CAM which simplifies design process.

Industrial visit to Tata Motors Service Station

Third year mechanical students visited Satyam and Soham Automobiles, authorized service station of Tata Motors to study automotive maintenance and services. Entire functions and flow of servicing of various vehicles along with workshop and spare parts assembly, head servicing, engine servicing was thoroughly demonstrated to the students. Gajanan Bhosale, Academic co-coordinator led the students and made them aware about all the aspects of automobile maintenance and service.

Industrial visit to I.T.I.

Third year mechanical students visited Industrial Technical Institute(I.T.I.) Sawantwadi on 4th Oct 2016 to get proper insights of various machines & their functioning viz. CNC, Milling, Broaching, Boring, Planer and also the finishing & grinding process as well. Vinayak Powar and Pushkar Parab, lecturers from mechanical department successfully executed the visit and also sought the co-operation from ITI faculty.

Industrial visit to ST Workshop

Second year mechanical students visited ST workshop at Sawantwadi on 20th & 21st Sept 2016 to understand core functions of ST workshop, maintenance and servicing, tools, tyre moulding and rest of the mechanical functions. Milind Desai and Brijesh Talawadekar, lecturers from mechanical department made the proper co-ordination with respective officials for the successful visit.

Industrial visit to Hindustan Polymer

Second year mechanical students visited Hindustan Polymer Pvt Ltd, Majgaon on 25th & 26th of Aug 2016 to get insights of Teflon manufacturing and its properties. Various aspects viz. creation of washer and bushes with Teflon material, various departments like quality control & assurance were introduced to the students. Vinayak Powar and Brijesh Talawadekar, lecturers from mechanical department took sincere efforts for the successful execution of the visit.

Gopal Krishna, Managing director & Mr Satpute, director of Hindustan Polymers visited YBP to deliver the speech as industrial experts. While addressing to mechanical students both speakers explained the importance of Teflon products in the form of specifications, advantages and business cycle. Career opportunities for diploma students in polymer industry were also discussed.

Guest lecture on Personality Development was arranged on 28th July 2016 to enhance various soft skills of the students. Rajendra Kore, Director AIMS Institute Pune was the guest speaker. To discuss the scope and opportunities for diploma holders in gulf countries, a guest lecture was arranged. Sudhir Jagtap, Q.C.Engineer & Management Representative, Interplast Co.Ltd, Sharjah, U.A.E. was the invited guest speaker. While delivering his speech he touched various aspects like the climatic conditions, job opportunities, working culture, taxation system and lifestyle in middle east countries.

Guest Lecture on CAD/CAM Software & Career Opportunities was organised on 6th Aug 2016. Rudrajeet Siddhaye, 3D Design Service Pune was the guest speaker. He explained various software versions of computer aided designing and manufacturing. He also introduced actual application of CAD/CAM software on PC.

Industrial training at DTPS

Second year mechanical engineering students attended one week training program on mechanical module at DTPS, Dahanu. Training officials of DTPS shared in-depth technical information with our students viz. Control Room, Boiler, Turbine, Off site area including CHP, AHP, DM Plant, Raw water treatment plant, CW pump house etc. All operational and maintenance details were explained practically.
