Investor awareness program

Electrical Engineering Department of YBIT (Diploma wing) successfully arranged Expert Lecture on “Investor awareness program” for Second Year and Third Year Electrical Engineering Students. The purpose of this program was to give knowledge to students about investment and share markets. Mr. D.D.Patil, HOD of Electrical Department welcomed the expert by offering bouquet. Mr.H.A.Pawar sir, Lecturer from Electrical Department welcomed Mr. D.D.Patil, Head of the Electrical Engineering Department (Diploma Wing)..Guest Mr. Jambhalikar Sir and jadhav sir explained the importance of investment, the money growth and the investment security provided by the SEBI.

The session was informative and students discussed the things with expert about the investment.This program was successfully coordinated by Ms. Teja shenai ,Mr. S .S. Ghadigaonkar,Department HOD Mr. D.D Patil sir. Introduction and vote of thanks given by Ms. Teja Shenai madam.Total 120 Students were present for this expert lecture.

Visit report

1) This visit was arranged under the 2rd year curriculum of Electrical Engineering for subject “Generation Transmission and Distribution and Electric Motors and Transformer”. As per I scheme syllabus the information related to The Generation of Electrical Energy, The Construction and Working of Generator and Alternator, The Construction and Working Step –Up Transformer, The Working of actual Generating Sub Station and LT Panels,

Students were mentored and guided by Mr. Borate Sir, Mr. Unawake Sir and other staff members on various aspects of the industry. Also Departmental staffs like Ms.T.S.Shenai and Mr ghadigaonkar were also present.

Student observed the The Generation of Electrical Energy, The Construction and Working of Generator and Alternator, The Construction and Working Step –Up Transformer, The Working of actual Generating Sub Station and LT Panels,.

2) Department of Electrical Engineering organized Industrial Visit 33/11 KV Kolgaon Substation. This visit was arranged under the 3rd year curriculum of Electrical Engineering for subject “Energy Conservation and Switchgear Protection”. As per I scheme syllabus the information related to various insulators, isolators, busbar, Transformer used in Electrical Power System, application of these equipment in Electrical Substations, industries etc., observe the Pole mounted Substation and Plinth mounted Substation. Also, students were observed construction of transformer, circuit breakers. Students were learned about energy audit. Students were mentored and guided by Mr. Khobragade and Mr. Kohale Sir and other staff members on various aspects of the Substation. Students asked many questions regarding different types of components. The entire visit is successfully organized by faculty member Mr. D. D.Patil ,Ms. S. N. Hewalekar, Mr. S.N.Nirmalkar

ESSENCE OF INDIAN CONSTITUTION

Mr. D.D Patil (HOD) welcomed guest speaker and further session was carried out by Mr. Shridhar Patil Sir has started this session with Meaning of the constitution of India, Salient feature and characteristics of constitution of India, Fundamental rights under Part III, Voter guides, Voter awareness and Voter online Registration.

The overall session was very informative and interactive. Many students asked their doubts, queries regarding this session and sir has cleared everyone’s queries. The aim and objective of this expert lecture was based on various program outputs like PO1 (Basic Knowledge) , PO 2 ( Discipline Knowledge ), PO3 (Development of solutions) , PO4 ( Engineering tools, experimentation and testing) ,PO5(Engineering practices for society). Around 120 students from SY and TY of Electrical Department attended this guest lecture.

Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti program and Rangoli Competition

Electrical Engineering Department of YBIT (Diploma wing) successfully arranged Expert Lecture on “Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti program and Rangoli Competition” for Second Year and Third Year Electrical Engineering Students. The purpose of this competition was to gave opportnity to students to do cultural activity other than academics.

The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. The T.Y.E.E student Ms. Atharva Parab delivered speech on highlighting Gandhi’s contributions to the nation and encouraging students to embody his principles of non-violence and unity.

Rangoli Competition Following the inaugural ceremony, the Rangoli competition began, themed "स्वच्छ भारत सुंदर भारत." Students from second year and third year electrical departments participated, showcasing their artistic skills using colored powders and flowers.21 groups take part in competition.The atmosphere was vibrant, with students working collaboratively and creatively.

Recent Trends In Electrical Power System

Electrical Engineering Department of YBIT (Diploma wing) successfully arranged Expert Lecture on “Recent Trend In Electrical Power System” for Second Year and Third Year Electrical Engineering Students. The purpose of Expert lecture was to give opportunity to students to connect with experts. Mr. Kapil Kanade, Assistant engineer, M.S.E.D.C.L, was Resource Person with 05 years of utility field experience and 3.5 years M.E.P design Experience in industrial field. Mr. D.D.Patil, HOD of Electrical Department welcomed the expert by offering bouquet. Mr.S.S. Ghadigaonkar, Lecturer from Electrical Department welcomed Mr. D.D.Patil, Head of the Electrical Engineering Department (Diploma Wing). Then kanade sir started the session.

Sir started the session with basic concepts in Electrical power System and then went deep in it. Also, he explained the applications of different terminology and recent trends in electrical power system. The overall session was very interactive and informative. Some students ask their queries and expert solved their doubts and queries.

Basic Terminology in Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering Department of YBIT (Diploma wing) successfully arranged Expert Lecture on “Basic Terminology in Electrical Engineering” for Second Year and Third Year Electrical Engineering Students. The purpose of Expert lecture was to give opportunity to students to connect with experts. Mr. S.P. Acharekar, Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering, YBIT (Degree Wing) was Resource Person with 13 years Academic Experience as well as good Industrial Experience. Ms. Mr. D.D.Patil, HOD of Electrical Department welcomed the expert by offering bouquet. Mr.S.S. Ghadigaonkar, Lecturer from Electrical Department welcomed Mr. D.D.Patil,Head of the Electrical Engineering Department (Diploma Wing). Then Acharekar sir started the session.

Guru Pournima

Electrical Engineering Department of YBIT (Diploma wing) successfully arranged “Guru Pournima” for teachers.. The purpose of this program was Guru is deeply rooted in honoring and expressing gratitude to teachers, mentors, and spiritual guides

"A Guru is more than just a teacher. They are a guiding light, a source of wisdom and knowledge, and a source of inspiration on our life's journey." Guru Purnima is a traditional Hindu, Jain, and Buddhist festival dedicated to honoring teachers, mentors, and spiritual guides who provide wisdom and knowledge. The festival, celebrated on the full moon day (Purnima) in the Hindu month of Ashadha (usually July or August), is an opportunity for disciples and students to express their respect and gratitude to their teachers, both spiritual and academic.

For this program vice principal of yashwantrao Bhosale institute of technology sawantwadi Mr. G .A Bhosle sir and HOD of all the departments are invited. Our second year and 3rd year student give speeches on why gurus are important in our life and also vice principal sir and all the faculties shares important thaughts on this occasion of Guru Purnima..The atmosphere was vibrant, with students working collaboratively and creatively.

Electrical Department successfully organized MSBTE sponsored State Level Technical Paper Presentation.

On 30th January 2024, The Department of Electrical Engineering organized MSBTE sponsored State Level Technical Paper Presentation Competition for Mumbai region. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Mrs. Sunetra Fatak, Administrative co-ordinator, Dr. Raman Bane, Principal YBIT, Jury members Mr. Dipak Khobragade, Assistant Engineer (MSEDCL,Sawantwadi),Mr. Onkar Marathe ,Assistant Professor ,SSPM college of Engineering,Ms. S.N.Hewalekar, Lecturer,EE Department, Mr. Satyajit Sathe, Principal, Yashwantrao Bhonsale college of D-pharmacy. For this event Mr. P.P.Sawant(HOD CE),Mr. A.J.Rane(HOD ME) and all the faculty members from EE department were present. Mr. D.D.Patil, Program co-ordinator gave brief description of competition. Dr. Raman Bane,Principal, Yashwantrao Bhonsale Insitute of Technology guided all participants for the competition. On this occasion administrative co-ordinator, Mrs. Sunetra Fatak madam gave wishes to all participants for the competition. Total 10 groups participated in this competition from various Institutes in Mumbai Region. For this competition Mr. Onkar Marathe,Assistant Professor,Mr. Dipak Khobragde,Assistant Engineer, MSEDCL & Mr. S.N.Hewalekar,Lecturer invited as a Jury members.The first prize of this competition was awarded to Mr. Prathamesh Satam & Mr. Lalitya Salgaonkar from GPM,The second prize of this competition was awarded to Ms. Pooja Lambar & Mr.Sanket Sutar from YBIT and consolation prize was awarded to Mr. Yash Rathod & Mr. Vedant Raipure from Pravin Patil college Diploma Engg & Technology ,Mumbai.

The anchoring of whole program is done by Ms. T.R.Shenai,Program co-coordinator. All the faculty members of Electrical Department took sincere efforts for the successful conduction of program under the guidance of Program chief -coordinator Mr. G.A.Bhosale sir.

Industrial visit to Power Engineers, Kolhapur

On 20th January 2024, Department of Electrical Engineering from Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi organized visit to “Power Engineering”. Mr. Aamle sir, Head of Quality Control of Power Engineering was the resource person. Aamle sir has more than 20 years’ experience in quality control as well as good Industrial experience in production. The industry welcomed our students with joy & enthusiasm; & every floor employee was willing to contribute in students’ knowledge gaining session. The session was started smoothly. At the starting sir has started with basics in transformer design and then focused on modern techniques used in it. During the session, resource person gave real life examples based on transformer testing. He also focused on different types of transformer types and difference between them and discussed recent advancements in transformer core. Throughout the session, students raised some queries and successfully cleared by Mr. Aamle sir.

Whole session was informative and interactive. The program was concluded by vote of thanks towards resource person. The overall visit was successfully organized and conducted by Mr. D D Patil, Mr. H A Pawar, Mr. S S Ghadigaonkar & Ms. N N Rawool. We, the faculties from Electrical Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi are thankful to our Principal, Dr. Raman Bane, Vice Principal Mr. G. A. Bhosale, Head of the department Mr. D.D. Patil for continuous guidance for successful organization of Industrial visit.

Industrial visit to RYB Electrical, Shiroli MIDC, Kolhapur

On date 20 January 2024, students from second year Electrical Engineering went for Industrial Visit to RYB Electrical, Shiroli MIDC, Kolhapur. Students observed various manufacturing activities, Panel manufacturing, to observe HT and LT Termination and Panel Erection, Internal and External Wiring, Various type of Panel Wiring Machine Starter panel during the entire visit. Also, Student experiential the manufacturing activities, Panel manufacturing, HT and LT Termination and Panel Erection, Internal and External Wiring, Various type of Panel Wiring AC Machine Starter panel in the industry. Students were mentored and guided by Mr. Phalle Sir and other staff members on various aspects of the industry. This visit was very much helpful for their academics as well as doing micro project work. This data and relative information are additional knowledge for our students. For this visit all students from SY EE were present. The entire visit was successfully organized and conducted by faculty members Mr. S.N.Nirmalkar & Mr. S.S.Ghadigaonkar.

Department of Electrical Engineering organized an expert lecture on PLC, SCADA & Role of Engineers in Industrial Automation

On 9th January 2024, Department of Electrical Engineering organized an expert lecture on PLC, SCADA and Role of Engineers in Industrial Automation for students from Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering.

Mr. Vivek Vishnu Sardal, Regional Manager from Prolific System & Tech Pvt. Ltd,Pune was the resource person of today's session. Prolific company is leading company in Automation sector and more than 350 tie-ups for placement. Prolific company is providing turn key Automation solution & also conducts training in Automation, Electrical Embedded System. For above said session, Mr. D.D. Patil, HOD Electrical Engineering, Mr.M.R.Desai,TPO Head, Mr.A.J.Rane,HOD Mechanical Department and faculties from EE, ME & MK Department were present. Anchoring was done by Ms. S N.Hewalekar. Whole session was successfully organised by faculties from Electrical Department.

YBIT organized ISTE sponsored self-financed faculty development programs on National Education Policy 2020 challenges and opportunities.

Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi (Diploma Wing) Successfully completed ISTE sponsored self-financed three days faculty development program on National Education Policy 2020 challenges and opportunities between 28/12/2023 to 30/12/2023. Hon. Sanjeev Desai sir, secretary, SYBES Sawantwadi was the Chief Guest, Hon. Raman R. Bane, Principal of YBIT, Sawantwadi and Hon. Gajanan A. Bhosale, Vice-Principal of YBIT, Sawantwadi was the Guest of honor of program of the inaugural function of the ISTE sponsored Self-financed three days online FDP on “National Educational Policy 2020 challenges & opportunities” and Mr. Deepak D. Patil, Program Convenor and Mr. Prasad P. Sawant, Program Coordinator, was present in the ceremony. All the participants along with invited Resource Faculties and guests were also present during the inauguration of FDP. As per the Indian tradition, the FDP was inaugurated with lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana.

Mr. Deepak D. Patil, Head of Electrical Engineering and Convenor had welcomed the all delegates, resource faculties and participants. The Co-ordinator had briefed about the FDP. He explained various objectives of the program. Mr. Gajanan A. Bhosale Vice-Principal had given brief outline of program and requested to all participants to enrich their knowledge from this FDP and inculcate among the students.

Hon. Sanjeev Desai sir, Chief Guest of the program has congratulated and gives best wishes to all Departments organizing such a program which indirectly benefits to society.

For the valedictory ceremony, Guest of honour Hon. Mrs. Sunetra Phatak madam (Administrative Coordinator of SYBES) was present, Vice-Principal, Mr. G. A. Bhosale sir also guided the audience and congratulated the organising team for the successful Completion of the same program. For this FDP, YBIT got a great response from various engineering and polytechnic colleges (Total 127 participants) from Maharashtra. In the valedictory function participants as well as Resource person shared their feedback.

Mr. D. D. Patil (Program Convener) shared the thoughts and Mr. P. P. Sawant (Program coordinator) delivered the vote of thanks and concluded the program. Overall anchoring of valedictory function done by Ms. Sanchita Kolapate.

Electrical Department organized guest lecture on 17th October 2023 on “Role of AI in Electrical Engineering”

Electrical Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi has successfully conducted an expert lecture on “Role of AI in Electrical Engineering” 17th October 2023. Dr. G.A.Rathy madam has more than 25 year experiences in career education. After having worked in various MNCs for about 14+ years in various roles of Training, Technical Support, After sales service management, Operations management & Product Quality Management. She decided to use her experience to help newer generations pursuing engineering build a solid foundation for making solid start to career in the 21st century. Speaker guided our students on various topic like importances of AI in electrical engineering and need of AI, machine learning process in different sectors, opportunities after diploma AI sectors, AI in robotics and automation, Role of AI in home automation and application of AI in electrical industry. The overall session was very informative and interactive. Many students asked their doubts, queries regarding this session and madam have cleared everyone’s queries. All third-year students of Electrical Engineering have attended this session. We, the faculties from Electrical Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi are thankful to our Hon. Vice Principal G. A. Bhosale sir, Head of the Department, Mr. D. D. Patil for continuous guidance for successful conduction of this event. The feedback responses of the students related to the event were recorded and analysed. This was a very much beneficial program for all the participants from Electrical Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi.

TY EE Students participated for State Level Paper Presentation held at Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering, Mahagaon on 14 October 2023

Mr. Jay Bhalekar and Mr. Rahul Gawas from TY EE actively participated for state level technical paper presentation competition held at Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering Mahagaon on E-Vehicle. Total 33 groups were participated for this competition from various colleges.

Electrical Department organized guest lecture on 9th on “Recent advances in Protection system”

Department of Electrical Engineering from Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi organized expert lecture on “Recent advances in Protection system”. Mr. Onkar Marathe, Assistant Professor, Electrical Department, SSPM college of Engineering was the resource person. Marathe sir completed his Master’s degree in control systems and has more than 12 years’ experience in teaching field as well as good Industrial experience. Mr. D.D..Patil sir, HOD from Electrical Department welcomes the guest of honour by offering bouquet. Mr. S.N.Nirmalkar, faculty from Electrical Department welcome Mr. D.D.Patil, HOD of Electrical Department.

During the session, sir gave real life examples based on protection system. He also focused on different types of protective devices and difference between them and discussed recent advancements in protection systems. Throughout the session, students raised some queries and successfully cleared by guest speaker.

Parents meet of TY EE students held on 7th October 2023

Electrical Department successfully arranged Parents Meet for Third Year Students. The purpose of Parents meet was to improve the coordination between teachers and parents for improvement in each students Academic Performance, attendance of students, How effectively mentorship is adopted , Training and placement information etc.

Ms.S.N.Hewalekar explained the intention of organizing the parent meeting. After that the , Hon.Principal Sir, Vice Principal sir and HOD , TPO head, parent representative were felicitated.

Hon. Dr. Raman Bane sir addressed the students and gave a message regarding upgraded technology and for this purpose requirements of higher education and updated technical skill Hon.Vice Principal Mr.G.A.Bhosale sir addressed the student and gave important messages regarding the curriculum and encouraged students for participating activities and also advised students to focus on academics . Then Electrical Department HOD Mr. D.D. Patil sir informed the parents about all the activities of the department in this semester, exam schedule, students progress, discipline of college. Mr. M.R.Desai sir explained the overall information about the training and placement cell. Also Parent representative Mrs.Dipali Bhalekar Mam expressed their views in the parent meeting.After that, the dignitaries felicitated the toppers of Second year Electrical students. This parents meeting was successfully arranged by the TY Electrical class Teacher Mr.H.A.Pawar.

The faculty members of the Electrical Department Ms T.R.Shenai , S.S.Ghadigaonkar and Ms. N.N.Rawool were also present.

Industrial Visit to 33/11 KV Kolgaon

Department of Electrical engineering organised Industrial Visit to 33/11 KV Kolgaon Substation on 5/10/2023. Students of Third Year Electrical of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology visited the 33/11 KV substation at Kolgaon on 5/10/2023.

In this visit students observed construction and working of Power transformer, maintenance of transformer, testing, types of relay, concept of circuit breaker , working of islolater, working of ring feeder , types of energy meter etc. Mr.Dipak Khobragade sir and Mr. S.R. Kohale sir explained all about substation components in detail. Mr. D.D.Patil, Ms.S.N.Hewalekar, Mr. H.A. Pawar and Ms.N.N.Rawool guided students further. This visit was successfully organised by Ms. S.N.Hewalekar.

Industrial Visit to L.R.Enterprise,Kudal

Electrical Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi has successfully arranged an Industrial Visit to L.R Enterprises, Kudal on 5/10/2023. L. R. Enterprises which is leading manufacturer of oil cooled distribution transformer, isolation transformer, current transformer, control transformer and also provides transformer repairing and maintenance services in Sindhudurg district. During the visit students were very well guided by company CEO, Mr. Somdutt Rawool, where students observed actual assembly, repairing and maintenance work of transformer. Employees from L.R Enterprises showed various aspects of company during the visit. Students raised many doubts throughout the entire visit. The entire visit is successfully organized by the faculty members Ms. T.R.Shenai , Mr. S.N.Nirmalkar, Mr. S.S.Ghadigaonkar.

The overall Industrial Visit was very informative and interactive. Many students asked their doubts, queries regarding repairing, maintenance process of different types of Transformers and sir has cleared everyone’s queries. This was a very much beneficial program for all the students from Electrical Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi.

Electrical department organized ROCK & REEL competition on 2nd October 2023

This year, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2023, the Department of Electrical Engineering organized Rock & Reel i.e a reel making competition for all YBIT students. The theme of making reel was importance of cleanliness. This competition was open for all YBIT students. The students from various departments participated in this competition. The main objective of this competition was to promote cleanliness, hygiene and the values propagated by Mahatma Gandhi through social platform. More than 60 students participated in this competition. . The consolation prize of this competition was given to Mr. Pratik Zarapkar, SY EE. 2nd runner up was Jay Akerkar from TYCE and 1st runner up of this competition was Suyog Desai & Santosh Sharma from SY ME-B. The winner of this competition was Jay Bhalekar and Samson Raudrigues from TY EE. Mrs. Manasi Kudatarkar,Librarian of YBIT & Ms. Hawabi Shaikh , Lecturer from civil department were act as jury members for this competition. The competition was successfully arranged and conducted by Departmental Event co-ordinator Ms. T.R.Shenai and staff members of Electrical Department under the guidance of Mr. D.D.Patil, HOD of Electrical Department.

Students from EE circulated Safety & energy conservation awareness pamphlets in campus

On the occasion of Engineer’s Day, 15th September students from Electrical Engineering Department distributed the pamphlets on Electrical safety and energy conservation awareness in campus. Students circulated the pamphlets to various Non Engineering people for creating awareness related to Electrical safety and Energy conservation tips. For this awareness program students got guidance from faculty member Ms. T.R.Shenai and Mr. D.D.Patil, HOD of Electrical Department.

Electrical Department celebrated Engineer’s Day with great enthusiasm

On 15th September 2023, on the occasion of Engineer's Day, Department of Electrical Engineering organized "MAKE IT CREATIVE" poster making competition for students. The theme was making creative and self expressive poster related to Electrical Engineering stream. Dr. Raman Bane, Principal of YBIT inaugured the event.Vice Principal, Mr. G.A.Bhonsle was present. Students welcomed all the dignitaries by offering rose .Mr. D.D. Patil , HOD of EE Department, Mr. P.D.Kate, HOD of CO Department, Mr. A.J.Rane, HOD of ME Department, Mr. P.P.Sawant,HOD of CE department were present. All faculty members of Electrical Department were present. Ms. Vedangi Nalavade, TY EE got 1st rank. First runner up was Saurabh Sawant from TYEE and Second runner ups were Saloni Satelkar from SY EE and Sanket Sutar fromTY EE. The program was successfully organized by Ms.T.R. Shenai, Event co-ordinator, Electrical Department.

Teachers Day Celebration

Students from Electrical Department of YBIT celebrated Teachers day on 5th September with great enthusiasm. The teachers and student gathered in the room no 33 in order to celebrate Teachers Day. The program was started by remembering Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishna at 3.30 pm. Members of EESA welcome all the faculty members by offering rose. Some students also expressed their gratitude towards teachers by giving short speeches. At the end, Mr. D.D.Patil, HOD from Electrical Department gave valuable guidance to students and program was concluded.

Role of Electrical Engineers In IT Sector

Expert Lecture on Modern Techniques in Switchgear and Protection

On 19 November 2022, Department of Electrical Engineering from Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology Sawantwadi organized expert lecture on “Modern Techniques in Switchgear and Protection”. Mr.Onkar Marathe, Assistant Professor, Electrical Department, SSPM college of Engineering was the resource person. Marathe sir completed his Master’s degree in control systems and has more than 10 year experience in teaching field. Mr. B.M.Patil sir, HOD from Electrical Department welcomes the guest of honour by offering bouquet. At the starting sir has started with basics in Switchgear and Protection and then focused on modern techniques used in it. During the session, sir gave real life examples based on protection system. He also focused on different types of protective devices and difference between them. Throughout the session, students raised some queries and successfully cleared by guest speaker. Whole session was informative and interactive. The program was concluded by vote of thankstowards resource person. The overall program was successfully conducted by Ms. T.R.Shenai. Department of Electrical Engineering organized Industrial Visit 33/11 KV Kolgaon Substation. This visit was arranged under the 3rd year curriculum of Electrical Engineering for subject “Energy Conservation and Switchgear and Protection”. As per I scheme syllabus the information related to various insulators, isolators, busbar, Transformer used in Electrical Power System, application of these equipment in Electrical Substations, industries etc., observe the Pole mounted Substation and Plinth mounted Substation. Also, students were observed construction of transformer, circuit breakers. Students were learned about energy audit. Students were mentored and guided by Mr. Rajendra B. Bagalkar Sir and other staff members on various aspects of the Substation. Students asked many questions regarding different types of components. The entire visit is successfully organized by faculty member Ms. S. N. Hewalekar, Mr. H.A. Pawar, Ms. T.R. Shenai.

Department of Electrical Engineering organized Industrial Visit L R enterprise, Kudal

on date 8 oct 2022, the students from SY from Electrical Engineering Program visited L R enterprise,Kudal which is leading manufacturer of oil cooled distribution transformer , isolation transformer, current transformer, control transformer and also provides transformer repairing and maintenance services in Sindhudurg district.During the visit students were very well guided by company CEO ,Mr. Somdutt Rawool,where students observed actual assembly , repairing and maintenance work of transformer. Department of Electrical Engineering organized Industrial Visit Mauli Enterprises, Kudal

Electrical Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi has successfully arranged an Industrial Visit to Mauli Enterprises, Kudal on 8/10/1022. Mauli Enterprises is a company where various types of motor windings are done. During the visit, students were guided by company owner, Mr. N.D.Wargaonkar, where students observed actual winding process of motor winding, testing of motor winding, process flow of machine designing, insulation used in motor, construction of rotor & stator. Employees from Mauli Enterprises showed various aspects of company during the visit. Students raised many doubts throughout the entire visit. The entire visit is successfully organized by the faculty members Mr. H.A.Pawar and Ms. S.N.Hewalekar.

Department of electrical engineering paid tribute to Sir M Visvesvaraya on occasion of engineers day

Electrical Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi has successfully conducted a “Calci War”, “Safety poster presentation” & “EESA logo” design competition on “Engineer’s Day” on 15th September 2022 in the presence of Principal of YBIT, Mr. G A Bhosale & HOD of electrical department Mr. D D Patil along with all departmental faculty. Inauguration of EESA logo design competition & safety poster presentation has been done by principal Mr. G A Bhosale in TYEE classroom.

Welcome & felicitation of guests is done by Mr. D D Patil followed by a welcome speech by EESA president Chandrakant Bhalekar. Mr. A G Prabhu, FY coordinator was available as a judge for “EESA logo” competition.

Electrical Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi has successfully conducted a expert lecture on “Energy Conservation and Audit” 28th August 2022. Prof Mr. Kedar L. Gaikwad from D.Y.Patil college of engineering and polytechnic, Kolhapur was our resource person. He has total 5 years’ experience in academics. During this period, he attended training, workshops, National and International conferences on different Engineering topics. He also published research papers in different journals.

Industrial visit to Receiving station at Talandage for Class S.Y. & T.Y. EE. On date 15/01/2020

The main purpose of this visit is to get practical knowledge of Electrical power transmission and distribution system. One of the Assistant Engineer from there explained all the components and single line diagram of 400 KV receiving station. From this students understood how to read the single line diagram of station. Students also got knowledge about new SCADA based system and PLC Programming. Electrical department grabs first prize at state level paper presentation

Siddharth Remane and Rajkumar Chavan from the electrical department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Polytechnic grabbed the first prize in the state level paper presentation competition organized by Maharashtra state board of technical education, Mumbai. They were rewarded with the certificates and cash prize worth rupees seven thousand five hundred at the hands of jury committee members. Both the students received valuable guidance from electrical department faculty.

Tree plantation drive

Electrical department participated enthusiastically in the tree Plantation Drive organised at Yashwantrao Bhonsale Polytechnic on 6th July 2017. Different types of fruits & flower saplings were planted in the campus. All the students & teaching staff from electrical department actively contributed to the drive. D.D.Patil, HOD of Electrical department, Mandar Ghawali, Balasaheb Patil, Dayanand Davane, Teja Shenai, Harshal Pawar & Shruti Hewalkar strove hard to make the plantation very successful.

Guru Pournima was celebrated by electrical students with great fervor and enthusiasm. All the teachers were welcomed and felicitated on the auspicious occasion. Students also delivered speeches especially in attribution towards their gurus and sought their blessings.

MOU with L.R.Enterprises Kudal

Memorandum of understanding was signed with L.R.Enterprises, Kudal which is a small scale transformer manufacturing unit. Sincere efforts by Mandar Ghawali, Harshad Pawar and Rohit Jadhav, lecturers from electrical department help this important MOU to be in successful execution. It will enable students to get in-depth training about manufacturing process and also lead them towards understanding of professional practices.

An electrical substation is a subsidiary station of an electricity generation, transmission and distribution system where voltage is transformed from high to low or the reverse using transformers. Electrical engineering students visited Power Substation located at Insuli, Tal. Sawantwadi to get in-depth knowledge regarding its internal working environment on 24th Aug 2016.

Guest lecture on Middle East Job Opportunities

To discuss the scope and opportunities for diploma holders in gulf countries, a guest lecture was arranged. Sudhir Jagtap, Q.C.Engineer & Management Representative, Interplast Co.Ltd, Sharjah, U.A.E. was the invited guest speaker. While delivering his speech he touched various aspects like the climatic conditions, job opportunities, working culture, taxation system and lifestyle in middle east countries.

YBP inks MOU with DTPS

An MOU was inked between YBP and DTPS (Dahanu Thermal Power Station). DTPS is a coal based thermal power plant located at coastal Dahanu town in Palghar district. It has an installed capacity of 500 MW. The power plant was commissioned in 1995 and is commercially producing power since 1996. Deepak Patil, HOD Electrical Department took sincere efforts for signing of this important MOU.
