YBIT's Computer Engineering -Diploma wing Hosts Successful ISTE approved self financed "IoT Insights: Building the Future" 2 days Workshop The Department of Computer Engineering Diploma Wing at YBIT recently organized a two-day workshop, "IoT Insights: Building the Future," on October 21 & 22, 2024. The event aimed to explore the transformative impact of the Internet of Things (IoT) on various industries and equip participants with practical knowledge and skills.
Led by renowned IoT expert, Mr. Aditya Vardam, Lecturer at SPK College, Sawantwadi, the workshop covered fundamental concepts, trends, and practical applications of IoT. Hands-on sessions enabled participants to enhance their understanding of IoT tools and technologies.
Third-year computer engineering students actively engaged in discussions, shared insights, and networked throughout the sessions. Ms. Sanchita Kolapate anchored the workshop, while coordinators Mr. Suraj Sawant and Mr. Ravi Dhandekar ensured the event's smooth execution.
The workshop concluded with a discussion on future IoT trends and their potential impact on daily life and business operations. Participants gained valuable insights, inspiring them to explore innovative solutions for future challenges.
"This workshop was a valuable experience for our students," said Mr.P.D.Kate, Head of the Computer Engineering Department.
Workshop Highlights:The Computer Department of YBIT organised a parent meet on Date 19 October 2024.
On 19th October the Computer Engineering Department (Diploma wing) organized Parent- Teachers meet for SY and TY students. The main objective of the Parents meeting was to share the academic progress and overall performance of the students with their parents. Meet started with giving condolences to the great man & great leader Mr. RATAN TATA sir. After that felicitation of students who were runner up and Winner in different competitions, also toppers in MSBTE S-24 exam.
After felicitation Mr. P.D.Kate sir HOD CO discussed various departmental activities with parents such as guest lecture, industrial visit, workshop, future plan of the department and also gave the message about the upcoming NBA Visit.
Mr. M.R. Desai sir TPO Head of institute discusses future opportunities for Computer engineers regarding jobs and training parameters and startup innovation .
For the above said meet Vice Principal, Mr. G. A. Bhosale sir guided students and parents about academics. From parents, Mr.chavan and Mrs.Andurlekar shared their views about the Department and also the institute. At the end, one to one interaction of parents with Mentor was done.

The eminent speakers for said lecture was Mr. Jambhalikar Sir and jadhav sir.. Experts explained the importance of investment ,the money growth and the investment security provided by the SEBI.
The session was informative and students discussed the things with experts about the investment.

Compesa Council Celebrates Teachers' Day with Poster Presentation Competition and Expert Talks
In a grand celebration of Teachers' Day, the Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology's Computer Engineering-Diploma wing affiliated Computer Engineering Student Association(COMPESA) Council organized a vibrant event that highlighted the pivotal role teachers play in shaping students' success. The event, themed "Student's Success is Teacher's Victory," was marked by a poster presentation competition, engaging expert talks, and insightful student discussions.
The poster presentation competition saw enthusiastic participation from students across First Year, Second Year and Third Year of computer engineering.that were inaugurated by Honorable Mr.G.A. Bhosale,vice principal,YBIT with all departments HOD and TPO and PRO including Mr.A.J.Rane(HOD MECHANICAL),Mr.D.D.Patil(HOD Electrical),Mr.S.S.Lanjekar(HOD MECHATRONICS), Mr.P.P.Sawant (HOD CIVIL),Mr.A.G.Prabhu(HOD Science and humanities),Mr.M.R. Desai (TPO),Mr.N.V.Sandye(PRO,BKC) along with our Head of Department Mr.P.D. Kate sir .
Honorable Dr.R.R.Bane, Principal YBIT sir also joined the ceremony and express his valuable views with students each presenting creative and impactful posters that depicted the theme in innovative ways. The posters were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, including honorable Mr.A.J.Parbhu ,HOD Science and humanities department and honorable Mr.N.V.Sandye ,PRO BKC eminent educators and experts, who praised the students for their artistic expression and thoughtful insights.
The event also featured a series of expert talks, where renowned educators Mr.Vijay Masurkar, Ex Divisional head,Wagdewadi shared their experiences and perspectives on the crucial role of teachers in fostering student success. The talks emphasized how teachers' dedication and innovative teaching methods contribute significantly to the achievements of their students.
Additionally, students took the stage to share their personal stories and reflections on how their teachers have impacted their academic and personal growth. These heartfelt accounts underscored the profound influence that educators have on their students' lives.
Honorable guests, including Principal,Vice Principal, HOD ,and education leaders, attended the program and expressed their admiration for the teachers' commitment and the students' achievements. Their speeches highlighted the importance of recognizing and celebrating the hard work of teachers and the successes of their students.
The event concluded with a heartfelt note of gratitude to all educators, reaffirming the belief that a teacher's success is intrinsically linked to the success of their students.all teaching staff were present for that ceremony and all Compesa council members effectfull contribution made the program successful.

On 29th August 2024 Computer Engineering Department arranged an Industrial Visit of Third Year Computer Engineering students (Diploma wing) at National Informatics Center,Sindhudurgnagari. Students got to learn the various softwares used in government apps development,Government websites development and updation. In this visit students understood how to utilise the software used in government various schemes .The various networking devices and server room are also observed by students for networking .Also they provided knowledge about command line interface and various commands used to handle the server operating systems . Session was very useful and informative and surely increased networking and server related knowledge of students. The Purpose of this Visit is to create awareness and understanding the outside use of computer technology.The visit is guided by the National Informatics Center DIO Mr.Antony Thomas sir,Network Engineer Mr.Gaurav Kadam,DPL Mr.Shankar Bagad,SSE Mrs.Sheetal Prabhu,Mr.Rupesh Kunkawlekar,Mr.Mayur Aayre,Mr.Prachi Manerikar. The Guest Lecture on" Fundamental Rights and Directive Principles of Indian Citizens " On Date 24/08/2024.
On 24/8/24, the Computer department in coordination with the Mechanical department ,conducted a guest lecture on the subject of Fundamental Rights and Directive Principles of Indian Citizens . For the program our guest of honor was Adv.Pooja Naik Jadhav (Lawyer at civil court Sawantwadi.) She explained the rights and duties of citizens. She also focuses on the importance of voting in society. She emphasized on governance and amendment procedure of the constitution . HOD(COMPUTER) Mr P.D.Kate welcomed our guest. HOD(MECHANICAL) Mr.A.G.Rane also present for seminar. Introduction and Vote of thanks was given by Ms.S.S.Kolapate and all staff members of the computer department were present for the program.

Seminar on "Women Health and Hygiene "
On 01/08/2024 ,Department of Computer Engineering had successfully arranged a seminar on Women Health and Hygiene The resource person for the seminar was Dr.Pushpalata Manerikar ,Community Health Officer ,Primary Health Centre,Banda. Miss.S.B.Gawade welcomed the guest with a bouquet of flowers.
Then Miss.S.S.Kolapate introduced the guest to the students and then the session started .
The main objective of this seminar was to understand the concept of Women Health and Hygiene, Why focusing on Women's health and hygiene is critical,Reproductive Health,sexual Health,Mental Health.
Also,the main target was Menstrual Hygiene,Personal Hygiene ,Sexual Hygiene, Lifestyle and nutrition.
Ms.Pushpalata explained to students about Women Health and Hygiene and Connection between hygiene practices and overall health. At the end of the seminar There was a doubt clearing session for girls . Around 150 students attended the seminar and all staff members of the Computer Department ,Miss.T.V. Gawandi ,Miss S.S.Kolapate,Miss.S.B .Gawade were present for the session.
The Guest Lecture on" Recent Trends in IoT " On Date 27/07/2024 ,Under the Guidance of HOD Mr P.D.Kate ;Department of Computer Engineering had successfully arranged Expert Lecture on Recent Trends in IoT.
The resource person for the seminar was Mr. Aditya Vardam from Department of Information Technology of SPK College Sawantwadi.
The Head of Computer Department Mr. P.D.Kate welcomed the guest with a bouquet of flowers. Then Miss.S.S.Kolapate introduced the guest to the students and then the session started .
The main objective of this seminar was to understand the concept of IoT and different types of IoT projects. Difference between IOT systems and embedded systems, Also, the main target was implementation of IOT in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Mr. Vardam explained to students about IoT and gave different examples of IoT projects along with that. He also gave some project ideas to 3rd year Computer Engineering students for their final project.
Students actively participated in the seminar. At the end of the seminar There was a doubt clearing session regarding the projects for Third Year students. Around 245 students have attended the seminar and all the Computer Department staff- Mr. Dhandekar sir, Mr.Mayekar sir, Mr. Mhapankar Sir, Mr Suraj Sawant Sir, Mrs Gawandi madam, Mrs. Gawade madam & Mr. Patil Sir was present in this session. And the session was concluded by Miss.S.S.Kolapate Madam.
International Yoga Day
NSS Unit of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology Sawantwadi, organized a Yoga session on the occasion of International Yoga Day Event Title - Conscious living and yogic lifestyle Event Content: Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga and incorporating yogic lifestyle, Basic asanas, Eye yoga for excessive screen time, Aum chanting
On this occasion YBIT Principal Dr. Raman Bane, Vice-Principal Mr. G. A. Bhosale, all department HOD & faculty from respective departments were present. The following Yoga expert faculty were present Pradipti Kotkar Certified yoga instructor & Msc in yoga therapy Riya Sawant MA Counseling Psychology The students from the Computer department & some students and facilities from other departments attended this session. The event was successfully conducted by NSS UNIT YBIT Sawantwadi.
Tree plantation event
On 21 June 2024, NSS Unit of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi organized a Tree plantation event in collaboration with Forest Department Sawantwadi. Through this program, 100 trees were planted at BKC Campus.
This Tree Plantation activity is conducted under the guidance of Shri. Madan Kshirsagar (Van Kshetrapal, Sawantwadi) & Shri. Bhramkumar Pandit Bhojane (Van Rakshak, Sawantwadi)

Computer Department Organise ISTE Approved Self-Financed State Level Project Competition “TECHXELLENCE 2K24”
On 09/03/2024 Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology successfully organized ‘TECHXELLENCE 2K24’ Project Competition for Computer Engineering programs (Diploma wing). This was a State Level ISTE approved self-financed event. Shri. Achyut Sawantbhonsale, Executive Chairman of Shree Yashwantrao Bhonsale Education Society has lighted the traditional lamp to mark the official inauguration of the event. Principal Dr. Raman Bane, Vice-Principle Gajanan Bhosale, jury members - Aditya Vardam from SPK Sawantwadi, and Manoj Khadilkar from YBIT were present on the occasion. In this ‘TECHXELLENCE 2K24’ - Computer department organized a project competition.
In the project competition of the Computer department, a total 20 teams participated. The evaluation of the project is done by both jury members according to rubrics. For this Technical Project Competition total 2 colleges participates these are YBIT and Dr.D.Y.Patil Polytechnic, Kasba Bavda, Kolhapur out of these and the Winner Project is “Smart Classroom” from YBIT whereas “Assistify : Access your mobile Remotely” runners up are from Dr.D.Y.Patil Polytechnic, Kasba Bavda, Kolhapur.
All the successful teams were felicitated with Memento, certificates and cash prizes of Rs.3000 & Rs.2000 respectively. Advocate Asmita Sawant Bhonsle, chairperson of Shri Yashwantrao Bhonsale Education Society & Sunetra Fatak, administrative coordinator was present for the valedictory function. Department heads Prashant Kate, Dhandekar Ravi took sincere efforts to make this event more successful.

Industrial visit at " SIBIC Business Incubator, Kolhapur " on 10/02//2024
On Date 10th Feb 2024 , Third year Diploma computer engineering students were visited *Siddham Innovation and Business Incubation center ,Kolhapur the first incubation Center in Kolhapur district and western region .During the visit students were very well guided by the Mr Satyam Shinde,Mr.Ansari sir and his team.In this visit students were actually learned the meaning of incubation,Incubation process,the IT project incubation,and the funding process for these type of startup or ideas .Students were also get the actual process ,practical work and project implementation in incubation centre,Students raised many doubts during the visit. Then Mr T.C.Mhapankar introduced the guest to the students and then the session started .Sir explained the power of AI in various fields, in very simple and understandable language. He also explained how to protect your data and network from cyber threats.
At first he explained the term AI i.e. Artificial intelligence in simple language. Then he covered various points related to AI regarding Data security.
He shared his knowledge regarding How AI can boost your defence against cyber threats.
He also discussed Types of AI, Educational AI and AI's language Learning and gave ideas about what Prompt Engineering is.
He shared his valuable knowledge and his AI related work with our students .

The Computer Department of YBIT organised a parent meet on Date 12 October 2023.
Objective of the parents meeting was to make parents familiar with the activities taken by the computer department , Discussion of class test 1,and work done under training and placement cell. For the said program Principal Dr. Bane sir ,Vice principal G.A.Bhonsle sir , TPO M.R.Desai sir were present. HOD P.D.Kate gave overall information of academics and TPO coordinator Ms.T.V.Gawandi gave overview of Training and placement cell activities. Anchoring was done by Ms.S.S.Kolapate and Vote of Thanks was done by Ms S.B.Gawade. To make the program successful , staff from the computer department actively supported the program. Total 129/172 parents were present for the Parents meeting.

The Computer Department celebrated the Gandhi Jayanti oday the Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology 's Computer Department affiliated Computer Engineering Students Association (CompeESA) arranged a programme on the eve of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shashtri.
The president of CompESA council Monteiro Staphyros introduced the program. Mithil Jadhav hosted the program. The Speeches were delivered by the students as well as faculty members.
The HOD of First Year A.G.Prabhu sir, HOD of Computer Department P.D.Kate Sir, HOD of Civil Department P.P.Sawant sir, HOD of Mechanical Department A.J.Rane sir, HOD of Electrical Department D.D.Patil sir as well as honorable vice Principal Mr.G.A.Bhosle sir were also present.
Around 50 students of BKC participated in the photography competition and about more than 160 Second year and Third year students of Computer Engineering were present for the event.
The HOD of the Computer Department and vice Principal guided students. The faculty members Miss.S.Kolapatte and Ms.S.B.Gawade spoke about the values and sacrifices of our great national leaders and how they made a positive change in the society. It also conveyed the message of the importance of cleanliness.
The committee also hosted logo and photography competitions. There was a good response from students. Amazing photos were clicked and logos were created. The final logo of the CompESA was revealed.
This event became a success due to the coordination and support of the Computer Department Faculty and student council members.

For this Expert lecture Mr.Rajshekhar N Patil (Managing Director, Softmusk infotech PVT LTD ) was a resource person.He has provided knowledge regarding C programming language .
Mr. Rajshekhar N Patil is Managing director in Softmusk infotech PVT LTD has rich experience in various technologies . He elaborated the objectives and goals of ‘C’ Programming and gave detailed lectures regarding C Program Structure, Header files and How to include the preprocessor header files and purpose.
Also he had discussed expression, selection statement, loops, basic types, array concept in C, function, pointers and files. He explained how to implement the concepts in a real world scenario and shared more information about real-time development procedure in IT and also explained the scope of Diploma in IT Sector. Finally he interacted with the students and cleared all the doubts raised by the students.100 students are attended this session

On 02nd September 2023 Computer Department arranged an Expert lecture on the topic Trends in AI ' for second & Third-year students. For this guest lecture, Hon. Principal of YBIT Dr. Raman Bane sir.
In this Expert lecture Sir explained the various terms regarding AI like Neural Network, Machine Learning, Deep learning and various algorithms regarding searching. He also provided some examples regarding Artificial intelligence. The session was very interactive and some brainstorming examples were also discussed with the students. The Computer Engineering Department successfully arranged Parents Meet for Second- and Third-Year Students. The purpose of Parents meet was to increase the coordination between teachers and parents for improvement in each student's Academic Performance, attendance of students etc. Mayekar sir explained the intention of organizing a parent meeting. After that the parent representative, Principal Sir and HOD were felicitated.
Hon.Principal Mr.G.A.Bhosale sir addressed the students and gave important messages regarding the curriculum and encouraged students for participating activities and also advised students to focus on academics . Then Computer Department HOD Mr. P.D. Kate sir informed the parents about all the activities of the department in this semester, exam schedule, students progress, discipline of college. After that, the dignitaries felicitated the toppers of the Winter 2022 exam and the students who achieved success in various competitions. After this, Department TPO Head Mr. Milind Desai Sir told the parents about the activities done through the TPO department. Parent representatives expressed their views in the parent meeting.

Industrial visit of Third Year Computer Students was arranged on 29/03/2023 The visit was arranged to Kolhapur Zilla Sahakari Dudh Utpadak Sangh Ltd., Gokul Shirgaon, Kolhapur. Total 49 students participated in this visit. Kolhapur Zilla Sahakari Dudh Utpadak Sangh Ltd. is well-known with its popular brand ‘Gokul’ is an Operation Food cooperative dairy project established on 16th march 1963. This one-day industrial visit will enrich the student’s knowledge regarding the industry work environment. Students learned about automation process, ERP Software, SCADA for automation, RACK Server ,Gokul Android App etc. HOD Mr P.D.Kate , Lecture Mr.S.M.Mayekar, Miss.G.M.Desai and Lab Tech. Industrial visit at " I-NET Solution,Sinchayani Palace,Sawantwadi " on 24/03/2023
On 24th March 2023 Computer Engineering Department arranged Industrial Visit of Second Year Computer Engineering students at Industrial visit at I NET Solution, Sinchayani Palace, Sawantwadi. There students got to learn splicing of optical fibre, a way to check if there is any connection loss due to a cut in optical fibre. Demonstration of cutting and splicing was shown by Mr Amey Sawant. Also student's got to see the server room of Inet network.Server incharge Mr Amit Nhavelkar explained all connection and parts of the server. Also demonstrated how to see whether a user is having any issue and how to resolve it. Session was very useful and informative and surely increased the networking knowledge of students. The Purpose of this Visit is to create awareness and provide knowledge to students about networking, networking devices, working of the internet.

A Guest Lecture on “Career opportunities in Software Testing field" on 18/03/2023
Currently the IT sector is rapidly growing and creates lots of opportunities in Software testing and Development. So our Department of computer engineering has decided to organize this Guest Lecture. So Mr. Sanjay S Zende is our guest. He has completed his B.E. in Computer science and engineering from Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Engineering, He has more than 10 years of experience in software development and teaching experience in this field.
First of all, he talked about software development life cycle and testing.Then they explained why testing is important. He also gave a lot of information about what manual testing is, what is automation testing and how to do it. Then he explained the software testing cycle. The guidance that he provided during the Guest Lecture live demonstration, excellent presentation, and coverage of content, communication and answer to queries was excellent and memorable.

The Computer Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi has successfully conducted an online expert lecture on “Industry 4.0 & Maintenance 4.0” on 23th November 2022. Dr. Milind Kirkire sir has more than 20-year experience in teaching.
The resource person also elaborated about the need for automating an Industry in order to improvise in terms of productivity, reliability and repeatability. He shared about how the automated robots, IoT, Cloud computing, Big Data, Augmented reality, Cyber Security etc., plays a major role in Industry 4.0. And a description was given about building an Environment that included Plan/Design of an architecture, Simulating, Validating, Fine Tuning and Implementing. It was a very interactive session and the students clarified their doubts. The Session was attended by the students and the Faculty members of the Department of Computer Engineering.

On 15 September, 2022 occasion of Engineer's day, our Department of Computer Engineering organized a " C Quiz Competition " for all second and third year computer engineering students. Two rounds were taken in this competition. First round was an online quiz on C programming and the second round was on programming. All students gave their best performance. It has become difficult to decide the winners. On the basis of both rounds, winners were declared.

ISTE Self-Financed State Level Paper Presentation held on 26th April 2022 at YBP Sawantwadi through online mode. Hon. Chairman Mr.Achyut K. Sawantbhonsale, Hon. Administrative co-ordinator Mrs Sunetra Phatak, Jury member Mr.S.S.JOSHI (LECT.IN COMP Dept, G P Malvan). were present on this occasion. Students gave presentation on the papers they had researched. The evaluation of presentation was done by both the jury members according to rubrics. For this Technical Paper Presentation total 9 colleges participated. Out of these, students of G.P.Malvan, YBP Sawantwadi and JSPM's Jayawantrao Sawant Polytechnic won the First ,Second and the special prize in Computer field

Industrial Visit at Sindhudurg Live, Sawantwadi
On 14th March, 2022, the department arranged Industrial Visit of Third Year Computer Engineering students at Sindhudurg Live, Sawantwadi. At Sindhudurg Live, centre students not only understood how Media editing and scheduling soft wares are worked but also learnt working of news creation, different editing devices, and broadcasting media. Mr Mayur sir took practical session on scheduling and editing. The purpose of this visit was to create awareness and provide knowledge to students about emerging trends and technology used in industrial area.

On 16th Oct.2021, Computer Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi organized webinar on "Microsoft Azure Cloud Services" by Mr. Abhishek Jadhav. On 2nd Oct.2021, Computer Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi organized Guest Lecture on "Kick Start to Machine Learning and Python”. On 15 September, 2021, Computer Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi organized a Guest Lecture on " Currents Trends in IT sector”. Mr Abhijit Prakash Gatade was chief guest of this session. He discussed various emerging trends in IT sectors. He also focused on the latest trends and need of emerging trends in our day to day life.
Guest lecture on " Automation Testing”
On 12 December, 2020, Computer Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi organized a Guest Lecture on " Automation Testing". The Main objective of organizing this guest lecture was to understand the concept of Automation Testing. So Mr. Satish Bote was our guest for Guest Lecture. It was very amazing experience to all of our students because they learnt how to perform Functional Testing through Selenium WebDriver. The guidance that he provided during the guest lecture live demonstration, excellent presentation, and coverage of content, communication and answer to queries was excellent and memorable. Guest lecture was interesting and informative.

On 31st Oct, 2020 Our Computer Department of organized a Guest Lecture on "Campus to Corporate Preparation". The Main objective of organizing this guest lecture was to learn interview techniques. Mr M. R. Desai was the Guest for this session. He gave tips on facing the interview .He also gave lecture on various job oppurtunities and how to prepare for aptitude test.
C- Competition on the Occasion of Engineers Day
On 15th Sept, 2020 Our Computer Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Polytechnic, Sawantwadi organized Online C-Competition on the occasion of Engineers Day. The Main objective of organizing this Online C-Competition was to improve basic programming and technical skills. Overall 81participants took part in this online C Competition. Most of them got 80% marks. Result of C Competition :First Rank was secured by Vinay Gawade, Second and Third Rank achieved by Vaibhav Jadhav and Gajendra Sutar respectively.

ISTE Approved Self-Financed State Level C Competition “TECHXELLENCE 2K20â€
It provides platform for students to go beyond their academic and explore their hidden talent. It is meant to motivate the students for doing programming problem solving ability. Students gave two rounds Aptitude Test and Programming Contest in this event. First round is on the Aptitude Test and Second round is on programming based on difficulty level. Students of ICRE, Gargoti and YBP Sawantwadi won the First and Second prize in Computer field.

Parent meeting for class S.Y.CO was held on 29th Aug 2019. Principal Mr. G.A.Bhosale, Computer HOD Mr. P.B.Inchanalkar, Class teacher Mr. S.M.Mayekar , Mr. S.S.Zende, Mr. P.D.Kate were present on the occasion.
