On 15th October 2024 organized Parent- Teachers meet for SY and TY students. The main objective of the Parents meeting was to share the academic progress and overall performance of the students with their parents. Meet started with felicitation of Model Making competition runner up and Winner and Toppers in previous MSBTE exam As well as Master Engineering completed Faculties also felicitated.
After felicitation Mr. P.P. Sawant sir HOD CE discussed various departmental activities with parents such as guest lecture, industrial visit, future plan of department and also sir gave the message about upcoming NBA Visit.
Mr. M.R. Desai Training and Placement Head of our institute discuss future opportunities for civil engineers regarding jobs and training parameters.

From parents Mr. Rajendra Mhapsekar shared their views about the Department and also institute. At the end one to one interaction of parents with Mentor was done. The overall meeting was successfully conducted by all the faculty members of the Civil Engineering department under the guidance of the Head of Department.
भोसले इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नॉलॉजीच्या सिव्हिल विभागामध्ये शस्त्र पूजन उत्साहात...... यशवंतराव भोसले इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नॉलॉजीच्या सिव्हिल विभागामध्ये आज शस्त्र पूजनाचा कार्यक्रम मोठया उत्साहात पार पडला. खंडेनवमीनिमित्त आयोजित या कार्यक्रमाला कॉलेजचे प्राचार्य डॉ.रमण बाणे, सर्व विभाग प्रमुख, शिक्षक आणि विद्यार्थी मोठ्या संख्येने उपस्थित होते. यावेळी अधिव्याख्याता केशव मणेरीकर यांच्या हस्ते सर्वेलॅब तसेच विभाग प्रमुख प्रसाद सावंत यांच्या हस्ते PHE लॅब मधील साहित्य व यंत्रांची पूजा करण्यात आली उत्तम ज्ञान व कौशल्य प्राप्त होण्यासाठी प्रार्थना करण्याकरिता इंजिनीरिंग विंग मधील सुयोग जोशी हा विद्यार्थी उपस्थित होता.

Students got the exposure to Pick up Weir, Earthen Dam and Gravity Dam sites. The Department of Civil Engineering organized a field visit for TYCE class at Ichalkaranji on 25th of September 2024. The aim of the visit was to identify Signals offering maximum control at intersections. They relay messages of both what to do and what not to do.
The primary function of any traffic signal is to assign right-of-way to conflicting movements of traffic at an intersection.
This is done by permitting conflicting streams of traffic to share the same intersection by means of time separation. By alternately assigning right of way to various traffic movements, signals provide for the orderly movement of conflicting flows.
They may interrupt extremely heavy flows to permit the crossing of minor movements that could not otherwise move safely through an intersection.
When properly timed, a traffic signal increases the traffic handling capacity of an intersection, and when installed under conditions that justify its use, a signal is a valuable device for improving the safety and efficiency of both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. भोसले नॉलेज सिटीमधील यशवंतराव भोसले इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नॉलॉजीमध्ये 'इंजिनियर्स डे' अर्थात 'अभियंता दिन' मोठ्या उत्साहात साजरा करण्यात आला. कॉलेजचे प्राचार्य डॉ.रमण बाणे हस्ते दीपप्रज्वलन करून व उपप्राचार्य गजानन भोसले यांच्या हस्ते डॉ.एम.विश्वेश्वरैय्या यांच्या प्रतिमेला पुष्पहार अर्पण करून कार्यक्रमाची सुरुवात करण्यात आली.
'फादर ऑफ इंजिनिअरिंग' म्हणून ज्यांना ओळखले जाते अशा भारतरत्न डॉ.मोक्षगुंडम विश्वेश्वरैय्या यांच्या जयंती निमित्त दरवर्षी 15 सप्टेंबर रोजी संपूर्ण देशात अभियंता दिन साजरा केला जातो. स्वातंत्र्योत्तर काळात देशातील महत्वाच्या पायाभूत सुविधा निर्माण करण्यामध्ये डॉ.विश्वेश्वरय्या यांचे मोलाचे योगदान होते.
विद्यार्थ्यांना डॉ.विश्वेश्वरय्या यांचे कार्य समजावे तसेच अभियंता म्हणून सामाजिक जबाबदारीची जाणीव व्हावी यासाठी भोसले इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नॉलॉजीमध्ये दरवर्षी अभियंता दिन साजरा करण्यात येतो. कार्यक्रमाला डिग्री व डिप्लोमा विभागाचे सर्व विभागप्रमुख, शिक्षक-शिक्षकेतर कर्मचारी व विद्यार्थी उपस्थित होते. कार्यक्रमाचे आयोजन कॉलेजच्या सिव्हिल विभागाच्या वतीने करण्यात आले.
Glimpses of Concrete Day Celebration at YBIT (Diploma Wing) Department of Civil Engineering celebrated Concrete Day to commemorate the formation of the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI). Mr. Narendra kekhalekar Technical officer, Ultratech Cement (Aditya Birla Group)Ratnagiri, Mr. Laxman Pawaskar, Senior Engineer Ultratech Cement and Mr. Jagdish Talwar, Sales Executive, Ultratech Cement were the guest speakers for today's event. Mr. P.P.Sawant Sir, HOD of Civil Engineering Department welcomed all the guest speakers. Mr. Laxman Pawaskar explained the different grades of concrete, admixtures that can be used to enhance strength and durability of concrete,Water Proofing materials and methods of water proofing and also demonstrated Sieve Analysis test and calculation of Fineness Modulus of sand . Mr. Jagdish Talwar elaborated the working of Advance rain water harvesting system. Mr. Narendra Kekhalekar explained the services provided by Ultratech and advanced materials developed by them and how Ultratech is the only cement company to have 100+ MTPA of cement manufacturing capacity in India. He also demonstrated students the method of mixing the raw ingredients while making concrete and testing of concrete cubes.Overall anchoring of the event was done by Mr. Atharva Dhuri, student from SY CE.All first year, second year and third year students from Civil Engineering Department actively participated in this event.
Glimpses of Teachers' Day Celebration at YBIT (Diploma Wing) On 5th Sep. 2024, Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology (diploma wing) celebrated Teachers' Day with great enthusiasm. The event started with the welcoming of Hon. Executive Chairman Mr. Achyut Sawant Bhonsale Sir,Principal Dr. R. R. Bane Sir and Vice principal Mr. G. A. Bhosale Sir,PRO Nitin Sandye Sir,TPO head Mr. Milind Desai Sir and all the Department Heads followed by traditional lamp lighting and garlanding of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's portrait by the present dignitaries.
Hon. Executive Chairman sir accentuated the role of teachers in nurturing young minds and the qualities to be engrossed from them. Dr. Raman Bane Sir explained how teachers can inspire generations and shape leaders of the future. Mr. P.P.Sawant Sir HOD of Civil Department highlighted the importance of today's celebration and how teachers can help students build lifelong skills.
Later, Mr. Dattaraj Kode student from SY CE explored the life journey of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and expressed gratitude towards all the faculties.A video documentary was played which portrayed how a good teacher can be a key to success.

Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology has successfully organised 'Techxellence 2k24' on 09/03/2024 for Computer, Civil and Mechanical Engineering programs (Diploma wing). This was a state Level ISTE aprroved self financed event. Shri.Achyut Sawantbhonsale, Executive Chairman of Shree Yashwantrao Bhonsale Education Society has lighted the traditional lamp to mark the official inauguration of the event.
Principal Dr.Raman Bane, Vice-Principle Gajanan Bhosale, jury members - Omkar Salvi from SSPM Kankavli, Aditya Vardam from SPK Sawantwadi, Swapnil Rawool and Manoj khadilkar from YBIT were present on the occasion. In this 'Techexcellence 2k24' Computer department organised project competition, Civil department organised quiz competition and Mechanical department organised paper presentation competition.
In the project competition of the Computer department total 20 teams participated and the Winners are from YBIT whereas runners up are from Dr.D.Y.Patil Polytechnic, Kasba Bavda, Kolhapur.
In the paper presentation competition of Mechanical department total 15 teams participated. Winners are from Abdul Razzaq kalsekar Polytechnic, Panvel and runners up prize jointly declared to YBIT and GP Malvan.
In the quiz competition of Civil department total 28 students participated and the Winner is Aniq Ejaj Naik and runner up Disha Bhaskar Rathod both are from YBIT.
The successful teams were felicitated with Memento, certificates and cash prizes of Rs.2000 & Rs.1000 respectively. Advocate Asmita Sawant Bhonsle, chairperson of Shri Yashwantrao Bhonsale Education Society & Sunetra Fatak, administrative coordinator were present for the valedictory function. Department head Prasad Sawant, Event Co-ordinator Parth Naik and Department faculty members made sincere efforts to make this event more successful. Earlier in the program Hawabi Shaikh, lecturer from the Civil department welcomed all the guests and proposed a vote of thanks at the end.
The Department of Civil Engineering arranged a field visit on 02/03/2024 for SY CE students for the course RBE (22403) at Flyover Banda . Mr. Anil Saraf, Project Engineer safety department L.N. Malvia Pvt. LTD guided students about various details regarding bridge construction and also shared the steel details of construction of Bridge girder. Mr. Pratap Murty, Director of Trimurti Construction shared details of component parts of bridges, the information about how to construct the bridge and how to check the quality of construction. Department of Civil Engineering arranged a field visit on dated 23 Feb 2024 for TYCE students for the course SWM (22605) at Kariwade Sawantwadi, Solid waste Segregation and Recovery Plant as well as Vermi compost Plant. Mr. Pandurang Natekar , Sanitary Inspector Municipal corporation and Mr. Shivram Tawate , Plant Supervisor guided students about methods and machinery used for handling,segregation and disposal of solid waste and working of plastic recycling machine.Students also visited Vermi Composting Plant and Mechanical composting plant for disposal of wet waste .Visit coordinated by Ms H.S.Shaikh and Mr. V.D.Gawade.
Organized field visit for students of FY Civil class for course Building material and Construction on
Second year civil engineering students from YBIT Diploma wing attained one day workshop at MITM, Oras on Rover and Total station instrument. Mr. Sujitkumar Jadhor, District superintendent of the Land record department and their team members conducted this workshop. The main objective of this workshop was to conduct surveys of various types of projects with use of Rover and total stations. Sir shares the valuable information about the instrument and conduct the field practical.
Students got valuable knowledge about this instrument.
Total 25 numbers of students & Mr. K.R. Manerikar attained this workshop.

_कार्यक्रमाची सुरुवात मान्यवरांच्या हस्ते दीप प्रज्वलनाने व डॉ.विश्वेश्वरय्या यांच्या प्रतिमेला पुष्पहार अर्पण करून करण्यात आली. यावेळी व्यासपीठावर संस्थेचे कार्याध्यक्ष अच्युत सावंतभोसले, वाय.बी.आय.टी प्राचार्य डॉ.रमण बाणे व उपप्राचार्य गजानन भोसले उपस्थित होते. कॉलेजच्या सिव्हिल विभागातील सेसा कमिटी प्रतिनिधी बाळकृष्ण परब याने सुरुवातीला डॉ. विश्वेश्वरय्या यांच्या कार्याची माहिती दिली व देशाच्या आजवरच्या प्रगतीत अभियंत्यांचे योगदान अमूल्य असल्याचे सांगितले._
_प्रमुख पाहुणे परितोष कंकाळ हे स्वतः पेशाने अभियंता असून स्पर्धा परीक्षेद्वारे शासकीय अधिकारी बनले आहेत. कॉलेजच्या वतीने शाल, श्रीफळ व मानचिन्ह देऊन त्यांचा यावेळी सत्कार करण्यात आला. भारत सर्व क्षेत्रात वेगाने घोडदौड करत असून येणाऱ्या काळात अनेक महत्वाकांक्षी प्रकल्पासाठी अभियंत्यांची मोठ्या प्रमाणावर गरज लागणार असल्याचे प्रतिपादन कंकाळ यांनी यावेळी केले._
_अच्युत सावंतभोसले यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांना मार्गदर्शन करताना प्रत्येक अभियंत्यामध्ये अडचणींवर मात करण्याची क्षमता विकसित झाली पाहिजे असे सांगितले. आपल्या आजूबाजूच्या परिसरातील समस्या व त्यावरील उपाययोजना शोधून काढल्यास तुमच्या ज्ञानाचा फायदा समाजाला पर्यायाने देशाला मोठया प्रमाणावर होईल असे ते म्हणाले._
_यावेळी कॉलेजचे प्राचार्य डॉ.रमण बाणे यांच्या संकल्पनेतून सुरू करण्यात आलेल्या ई-लर्निंग मोड्युलचे चित्रफितीद्वारे सादरीकरण करण्यात आले. यामध्ये विद्यार्थ्यांना त्यांचा संपूर्ण अभ्यासक्रम अतिशय सोप्या भाषेत फक्त एका क्लिकवर उपलब्ध होणार आहे. उपप्राचार्य गजानन भोसले यांनी आपले मनोगत व्यक्त करताना सर्व विद्यार्थ्यांना अभियंता दिनाच्या शुभेच्छा दिल्या._
_यावेळी कॉलेजतर्फे घेण्यात आलेल्या विविध स्पर्धांमधील विजेत्यांना मान्यवरांच्या हस्ते भेटवस्तू व प्रमाणपत्र प्रदान करण्यात आले. कार्यक्रमाचे सूत्रसंचालन तृतीय वर्ष सिव्हिल विभागातील आदित्य जडये याने तर आभार प्रदर्शन नारायण गाळेलकर याने केले. विभागप्रमुख प्रा.प्रसाद सावंत यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली सिव्हिल विभागाने कार्यक्रमाचे यशस्वी आयोजन केले.

organised a guest lecture on " Government Job Opportunities " on 29th August 2023, for the students of TYCE and SYCE class. On this ocassion, Vice Principal of YBIT Mr. G.A.Bhosale sir, HOD of Dept. of Civil Engineering Mr.P.P.Sawant sir and all Civil Department staff were present. The guest speaker for this topic was Mr. Laxman Bhute Sir, Junior Engineer Civil,Water Resource Department ( WRD). He discussed the numerous Government job opportunities after diploma and guided students about the study techniques to clear them. Guest lecture on Introduction to ETABS
Department of Civil Engineering organised a guest lecture for the students of SYCE and TYCE classes on " Introduction to ETABS" by Mr. Girish Chiplunkar on 3rd December 2022. ETABS is the ultimate integrated software package for the structural analysis and design of buildings. Mr Girish Chiplunkar demonstrated the use of ETABS software for RCC design of a building by using relevant IS codes. He has offered to conduct complete certification course under AICPE (All India Council for Professional Excellence) for interested students. Introduction of guests was done by Mr. P. D. Parents Meet for Second Year and Third Year Students
Department of Civil Engineering successfully arranged Parents Meet for Second Year and Third Year Students on 19/11/2022. The purpose of Parents meet was to increase the coordination between teachers and parents for betterment of each student, academic performance, attendance of students etc. Meeting started with felicitation of Parent representative, TPO and HOD. TPO Head Mr. Milind R. Desai sir gave detailed information about Training and Placement cell & its importance, after that Head of Department Mr. Prasad P. Sawant sir guided about Department’s progress, introduced all the staff, Curricular and Co-curricular activities, and results. Labour Training on Construction Site Safety
On 15th Aug 2022 Department of Civil Engineering, Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi and Landkraft Spaces Pvt. Ltd; Sawantwadi decided to celebrate “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”. In this celebration department of Civil Engineering guided labour regarding construction site safety. For this function 20 site labours, Project Manager Mr. Dhanajay Mahale, Site Engineer Mr. Prasad Mhapsekar were present. At the same time students of department of Civil Engineering visited the site. Students were given detailed information about the site like building type, reinforcement details, shuttering details etc. At the end of session, Mr. K. R. Manerikar delivered vote of thanks.
Lineout of Framed Structure and Load Bearing Structure by Centreline Method
Students of SYCE class and RPD Junior College as a part of CEP organised by the department of civil engineering carried out a line-out of framed structure and load bearing structure by centreline method on BKC campus ground. The visit was conducted on 15th of November. Layout of a building or a structure shows the plan of its foundation on the ground surface according to its drawings, so that excavation can be carried out exactly where required and position and orientation of the building is exactly specified. The visit was coordinated by Ms. Hawabi S. Shaikh.

Students of SYCE class of the Department of Civil Engineering conducted Traffic Volume study at Chhatrapati Shivaji Chowk, near Sawantwadi Bus Depot, Sawantwadi; on 15th Nov. 2022.
Traffic Volume study is very important to be performed because it can increase the efficiency and life of roads, reduce traffic volume at a particular section, provide better means for development of infrastructures, provide better means to utilize other roads in case of special events in the city, provide estimate of no vehicles against no of persons. Expert lecture “Recent Trends in Constructions”
Interactive Expert lecture was organized by Department of Civil Engineering of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi on “Recent Trends in Constructions” on 13th Oct 2022. Field visit to study the reinforcement detailing of RCC slab and beam
Department of Civil Engineering arranged a site visit to " Study the Reinforcement Detailing for RCC Slab" for students of TYCE class at " Sawantwadi Enclave " project at Malgaon, Sawantwadi on 27th sept. 2022. This project by Landcraft Spaces Pvt. Ltd . consists of premium residential and commercial buildings opposite to Sawantwadi railway station. Project manager Mr.Dhananjay Mahale was present during the visit, he shared the RCC drawings of the Slab with the students and demonstrated how to check the reinforcement for RCC slab and beam. CEP On Field Testing Of Building Materials
On " Vishwakarma Day " i.e.; 17th September 2022, the Department of Civil Engineering organized a Continuous Education Program (CEP) for workers/labourers of Landcraft Spaces Pvt. Ltd. The objective of CEP was to train the labourers in Field Testing of Building Materials. Various field tests on Cement, Steel, Aggregates, bricks, and steel were demonstrated to the labourers. Also, concrete cube test on the UTM and rebound hammer test on RCC column were performed. The project manager for Landcraft Spaces Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Dhananjay Mahale expressed his gratitude and thanked HOD of Civil Department Mr. Prasad Sawant sir, for organizing the program. Field Visit to observe Masonry, Plastering, Scaffolding, Formwork and Centering Work
Students of SYCE class visited the construction site of new BKC canteen building to study Masonry, Plastering, Scaffolding, Formwork and Centering Work. The visit was conducted on 22nd September 2022. Students observed the masonry and plaster work being done on site. Formwork is arranged to support the structural members, whereas scaffolding is provided as a worker’s platform around the building to work at heights. The visit was coordinated by Ms. Hawabi S. Shaikh.
Engineer’s Day Celebration and Bridge Model Making Competition
Engineer’s Day was celebrated by the Department of Civil Engineering of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology on 15th September 2022. On this occasion a Bridge Model Making Competition was organized by civil departments. The competition was inaugurated by Principal Mr. G. A. Bhosale sir. In this competition, each team of 2 students were given 100 candy sticks for creating the model. The bridge model was then weighed and tested for maximum load capacity. The team with highest load to weight ratio was declared winner. Students of SYCE class Sujit Prakash Kamble and Jay Damodar Akerkar bagged the first prize and students from TYCE class Sanika Shamrao Kamble and Siddhi Santosh Sawant were the runner ups.
Student-Alumni Interaction
The department of Civil Engineering organized alumni interaction with third year students. Our alumni Mr. Hitesh Mangaokar, Mr. Tejas Sawant and Mr. Mahesh Kumar Rathod shared valuable experience about how to study, how to complete capstone project in stipulated time and guidance regarding the participation in events. Mr. Chaitanya Naik shared valuable experience about civil engineering site work after completion of diploma course. Students also participated in the event by interacting with the alumni. Students asked for tips and guidance for preparing difficult subjects with numerical problems, building drawings, capstone project work, design problems etc.

Today SY CE students visited Terekhol River bridge,Banda to study the construction of bridge superstructure.This bridge is 150m long divided into 3 spans of 50m each.Special type of box girder is used which consist of post tensioning cables embedded in R.C.C. Students were allowed access inside the box girder and de-shuttering was done to show the cable profiles.
Second year Civil Engineering Students visited Kudal railway station on 22/01/2020 to understand the working of "Points and Crossings" and the different terminologies related to railway engineering.
Third year civil engineering students visited on Solid waste Treatment plant to study of waste management and various types of treatment on it at Vengurla Solid waste treatment plant.

TYCE and SYCE field visit on Traffic Volume Study,Subject- Highway Engineering and Traffic Engineering at Gawali Titha intersection on 31 July 2019, with local traffic police personnel. Students measured traffic volume, traffic intensity and nature of traffic, during morning and evening peak hours.Visit concluded successfully achieving all objectives.

Visit to Ultratech RMC plant, Kolhapur
Ready-mix concrete refers to concrete that is specifically manufactured for construction projects. It is a mixture of cement, water, sand, gravel, or crushed stone. To understand Ready-mix concrete manufacturing process T.Y.C.E.students visited Ultratech RMC plant at Kolhapur on 19th August 2017 under the supervision of HOD Pramod Farakate & Class teacher Rahul Sangle.
Visit to water treatment plant, Ichalkaranji
Water treatment is any process that makes water more acceptable for a specific end-use. The end use may be drinking, industrial water supply, irrigation, river flow maintenance, water recreation or many other uses, including being safely returned to the environment. T.Y.C.E. students visited water treatment plant at Ichalkaranji under the supervision of HOD Pramod Farakate & Class teacher Rahul Sangle. Mr.Suresh Kamle, Engineer for water supply, Ichalkaranji was also present during the visit.
Visit to Sewage treatment plant, Ichalkaranji
Sewage treatment is the process of removing contaminants from wastewater, primarily from household sewage. It includes physical, chemical, and biological processes to remove these contaminants and produce environmentally safer treated wastewater. For the same practical insights T.Y.C.E.students visited Sewage treatment plant at Ichalkaranji under the supervision of HOD Pramod Farakate & Class teacher Rahul Sangle.
Visit to Shraddha RCC Pipe Factory, Atigre, Kolhapur
T.Y.Civil students visited Shraddha RCC Pipe Factory, A/P.Atigre, Dist Kolhapur to understand the RCC pipe manufacturing process under the supervision of HOD Pramod Farakate & Class teacher Rahul Sangle. RCC pipe is the concrete pipe making process using the centrifugal process and also popularly known as spun process in many parts. This is most traditional method of producing the concrete pipes. RCC Hume pipe refers to Reinforced Concrete cement pipes.
Visit to the structure during concrete work
To understand the indepth concrete work procedure of the structure, an industrial visit was arranged to one local construction site. Concrete work procedure for various types of concrete such as foundation, columns, beams, slabs, floors and other reinforced concrete structures was thoroughly demonstrated to the students. Class teacher Parth Naik illustrated all the aspects related to concrete work during the visit.
Visit to the superstructure of public building
To get the practical insights of the superstructure of public building; civil department arranged an industrial visit to one local under construction building. Superstructure is an upward extension of an existing structure above a baseline called Ground Level in general. The superstructure of a building is the part that is entirely above its foundation or basement. This visit was executed under the supervision of HOD Pramod Farakate & Class teacher Parth Naik.
Parents Meeting 2017-18
Parent meeting for class S.Y. & T.Y.Civil was conducted on 19th Aug 2017. Civil HOD Pramod Farakate, Class teacher Prasad Manerikar, Parth Naik, Hawabi Shaikh, Rahul Sangale & TPO head Milind Desai were present on the occasion. Students’ academic progress, attendance, last semester result was thoroughly discussed. Staff introduction was made & various activities conducted for last year were also briefed to the parents.
Expert lecture on quality in construction
Expert lecture on quality in construction was arranged in the month of August 2017. Guest speaker was Pradip Joshi, Former Executive Engineer, PWD. While addressing to the students Joshi explained how the quality in construction is related to satisfying the specification mentioned in the contract, completing the project in time, Fulfilling the owner’s requirement within budget, Avoiding disputes claims and overall ensuring all parameters related to quality.
Tree plantation drive
Civil Department participated in the tree Plantation Drive at Yashwantrao Bhonsale Polytechnic in the first week of July2017. Different types of fruits & flower trees were planted in the campus. All the students & teaching staff of civil department actively contributed to the drive under the leadership of HOD Pramod Farakate.
