The state-level competition “Techxcellence 2026” organized by the Diploma Department of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology and sponsored by ISTE, was successfully conducted with great enthusiasm at Bhonsale Knowledge City. The event was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Raman Bane with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Vice Principal Gajanan Bhosale and esteemed judges including Yogesh Mahadik, Lecturer, Government Polytechnic Karad, Dr. S. K. Kulkarni, SSPM Engineering College, Poonam Kadam, Vice Principal, MITM College, and Sachin Joshi, Lecturer, Government Polytechnic Malvan were present on the occasion.
The competition was organized to provide a platform for students from the Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer departments to showcase their technical skills. Students impressed everyone with their innovative ideas and research-oriented approach. On the occasion of National Science Day, floral tributes were offered to the portrait of Dr. C.V.Raman as a mark of respect.
Winners from various technical sessions were felicitated during the valedictory ceremony with cash prizes, mementos, and certificates. In the Mechanical Department Paper Presentation competition, Ramesh Latthe and Sanskar Anavkar secured First Prize, while Sahil Jadhav and Sonu Harmalkar won Second Prize. In the Photography competition, Sanskar Anavkar secured First Prize and Lokesh Bhogan secured Second Prize.
In the Computer Department Project Competition, the project “Unmanned Defence Vehicle” developed by Paras Gawade, Karan Gawas, Sujal Ghugare, Nishant Jadhav, and Manthan Karpe won First Prize. The project “Smart Grass Cutting Robot” developed by Mitali Chavan, Tanvi Mestri, Bhoomika Satardekar, Malini Warang, and Gauri Raul secured Second Prize. In the intellectual competition “Mind Matrix – The Puzzle Arena,” Lakshmiprasad Kanade and the “Bug Busters” group secured First Prize, while Diksha Gawas and the “Logic Legends” group won Second Prize.
In the Electrical Department Project Competition, Ritesh Gawas and his group won First Prize for the project “Advanced Solar Power Sprayer,” while Tejas Gawade and his group secured Second Prize for the project “IoT-Based Solar Grass Cutter.” In the Poster Competition, Chaitanya Bhagat and Samaresh Naik won First Prize for the theme “Save Environment – Save Future,” while Kunal Dhuri and Rishikesh Raul secured Second Prize for the topic “Industry 5.0”
In the Civil Department Project Competition, the project “Piezoelectric Foot Step Power Generation” by Dattaraj Kode, Harishchandra Dhuri, Mansi Khavaneakar, Atharva Dhuri, and Raviraj Sawant won First Prize. The project “Filler Slab” by Rudresh Padte, Tanisha Gawas, Aryan Asolkar, Gunjan Dhuri, and Tanisha Bange secured Second Prize. In the Reel Making Competition, Second Year Mechanical student Angelina D’Souza and team won First Prize, while Second Year Civil student Aryan Paste and team secured Second Prize.
The dignitaries appreciated the achievements of all successful students and their guiding faculty members. The inauguration ceremony was compared by Hawabi Shaikh, while the valedictory function was anchored by Sanchita Kolapate.

We organise parents' meetings every semester to share the progress of each department with the parents and to address the concerns of the parents. A total of 121 students from the Third Year participated in this immersive experience, stepping directly into the heart of a professional software development environment. Guest Lecture on “Personality Development” for Computer Engineering Students
The Computer Engineering Department (Diploma Wing) of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi successfully organized a Guest Lecture on “Personality Development” on 31st January 2026 at 10.30 a.m.
The session was conducted by Mr. Boney Peter Sharon, Assistant Professor, Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology. The lecture highlighted the importance of personality development in enhancing students’ academic performance, professional growth, communication skills, and overall confidence required to meet industry expectations.
The program began with the guest introduction by Mrs. T. V. Gawandi. The resource person was felicitated with a welcome bouquet by HOD, Mr. P. D. Kate. During the session, Mr. Sharon shared valuable insights on self-discipline, positive attitude, effective communication, and career readiness. The lecture was interactive and highly informative, motivating students to focus on their personal and professional development.

The session was delivered by Mr. Rohit Khatavkar, a seasoned IT professional and educator, who shared valuable knowledge on the freelancing ecosystem. Under the guidance of Mr. P.D. Kate (HOD, Computer Engineering), the session commenced with a warm welcome and a bouquet presentation to the guest speaker. The Computer Department (Diploma Wing) of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi today on the occasion of Gurupournima organized an Intra-Departmental Debate Competition titled “Clash of Thoughts” under the banner of the student association COMPESA. The event aimed to foster the essential skills of public speaking, logical reasoning, and persuasive communication among students.
The primary goal of the competition was to provide a platform for students to express their viewpoints confidently, develop critical thinking, and engage in meaningful discussions on socially and technically relevant topics. Through this initiative, the department aimed to enhance the intellectual and expressive capabilities of the students. Students from SYCO class actively participated in the competition, bringing forward diverse perspectives and thought-provoking arguments. The debate was structured to ensure fair and balanced discussions, with topics that challenged students to explore current trends and societal issues through analytical and creative lenses.
The event began with a warm welcome address followed by the introduction of the rules and judging criteria. Participants were then grouped for multiple rounds, where they presented their arguments with clarity and conviction. The audience witnessed a vibrant exchange of ideas and respectful counterpoints, making the event intellectually enriching. The program was successfully organised by the event coordinators: Miss. S.S. Kolapate and Miss. P.B. Mhadgut lecturers at Computer department.
The meticulous planning and coordination of whole department ensured smooth execution of the event and enthusiastic participation from students under the guidance of HOD Mr. P.D.Kate sir. All the teaching staff of computer engineering department were jury members for the competition.

The farewell ceremony for the third-year diploma students of Yashwantrao Bhosale Institute of Technology was held on 17 April 2025 in an emotional atmosphere. The students who were admitted in the academic year 2022-23 will be graduating this year with a diploma in engineering, and the institute extended best wishes for their bright future.
On this occasion, the dignitaries present on the stage included the Executive President of the institute Achyut Sawantbhosale, Head of Electrical Department Harshal Pawar, Head of Computer Department Prashant Kate, Head of Civil Department Prasad Sawant, Head of Mechanical Department Abhishek Rane, and Mahesh Patil.
While giving his best wishes, Achyut Sawantbhosale urged the students to make full use of the technical skills learned in college in their future lives. He also expressed confidence that values and discipline will take them to great heights in life. Department heads also conveyed their best wishes and assured the students that the institute would always stand by them at every stage of their career.

The program was inaugurated by Additional superintendent of police Sindhudurg Mr.Krushikesh Rawale sir.For this inauguration ceremony Honourable Executive Chairman of BKC Mr.Achyut Sawant-Bhosale sir was also present.
The purpose of this program is to create interaction between police and Citizens.In this program police officers provided the information regarding with Cyber security and awareness.Forensic team provide the information about the various narcotics kits and fingerprints expertise.Ammunition and weapon experts provided valuable information about the information about the various weapons and equipment.Dog sniffing squad showed practicals and information for bomb detection,Drugs detection.Traffic control teams provided various information about the traffic control,system,safety and rules.

Seminar on "Women Health and Hygiene "
On 01/08/2024 ,Department of Computer Engineering had successfully arranged a seminar on Women Health and Hygiene The resource person for the seminar was Dr.Pushpalata Manerikar ,Community Health Officer ,Primary Health Centre,Banda. Miss.S.B.Gawade welcomed the guest with a bouquet of flowers.
Then Miss.S.S.Kolapate introduced the guest to the students and then the session started .
The main objective of this seminar was to understand the concept of Women Health and Hygiene, Why focusing on Women's health and hygiene is critical,Reproductive Health,sexual Health,Mental Health.
Also,the main target was Menstrual Hygiene,Personal Hygiene ,Sexual Hygiene, Lifestyle and nutrition.
Ms.Pushpalata explained to students about Women Health and Hygiene and Connection between hygiene practices and overall health. At the end of the seminar There was a doubt clearing session for girls . Around 150 students attended the seminar and all staff members of the Computer Department ,Miss.T.V. Gawandi ,Miss S.S.Kolapate,Miss.S.B .Gawade were present for the session.
The Guest Lecture on" Recent Trends in IoT " On Date 27/07/2024 ,Under the Guidance of HOD Mr P.D.Kate ;Department of Computer Engineering had successfully arranged Expert Lecture on Recent Trends in IoT.
The resource person for the seminar was Mr. Aditya Vardam from Department of Information Technology of SPK College Sawantwadi.
The Head of Computer Department Mr. P.D.Kate welcomed the guest with a bouquet of flowers. Then Miss.S.S.Kolapate introduced the guest to the students and then the session started .
The main objective of this seminar was to understand the concept of IoT and different types of IoT projects. Difference between IOT systems and embedded systems, Also, the main target was implementation of IOT in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Mr. Vardam explained to students about IoT and gave different examples of IoT projects along with that. He also gave some project ideas to 3rd year Computer Engineering students for their final project.
Students actively participated in the seminar. At the end of the seminar There was a doubt clearing session regarding the projects for Third Year students. Around 245 students have attended the seminar and all the Computer Department staff- Mr. Dhandekar sir, Mr.Mayekar sir, Mr. Mhapankar Sir, Mr Suraj Sawant Sir, Mrs Gawandi madam, Mrs. Gawade madam & Mr. Patil Sir was present in this session. And the session was concluded by Miss.S.S.Kolapate Madam.
International Yoga Day
NSS Unit of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology Sawantwadi, organized a Yoga session on the occasion of International Yoga Day Event Title - Conscious living and yogic lifestyle Event Content: Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga and incorporating yogic lifestyle, Basic asanas, Eye yoga for excessive screen time, Aum chanting
On this occasion YBIT Principal Dr. Raman Bane, Vice-Principal Mr. G. A. Bhosale, all department HOD & faculty from respective departments were present. The following Yoga expert faculty were present Pradipti Kotkar Certified yoga instructor & Msc in yoga therapy Riya Sawant MA Counseling Psychology The students from the Computer department & some students and facilities from other departments attended this session. The event was successfully conducted by NSS UNIT YBIT Sawantwadi.
Tree plantation event
On 21 June 2024, NSS Unit of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology, Sawantwadi organized a Tree plantation event in collaboration with Forest Department Sawantwadi. Through this program, 100 trees were planted at BKC Campus.
This Tree Plantation activity is conducted under the guidance of Shri. Madan Kshirsagar (Van Kshetrapal, Sawantwadi) & Shri. Bhramkumar Pandit Bhojane (Van Rakshak, Sawantwadi)
On this occasion YBIT Principal Dr. Raman Bane, Vice-Principal Mr. G. A. Bhosale, all department HOD & faculty from respective departments were present.

Computer Department Organise ISTE Approved Self-Financed State Level Project Competition “TECHXELLENCE 2K24”
On 09/03/2024 Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology successfully organized ‘TECHXELLENCE 2K24’ Project Competition for Computer Engineering programs (Diploma wing). This was a State Level ISTE approved self-financed event. Shri. Achyut Sawantbhonsale, Executive Chairman of Shree Yashwantrao Bhonsale Education Society has lighted the traditional lamp to mark the official inauguration of the event. Principal Dr. Raman Bane, Vice-Principle Gajanan Bhosale, jury members - Aditya Vardam from SPK Sawantwadi, and Manoj Khadilkar from YBIT were present on the occasion. In this ‘TECHXELLENCE 2K24’ - Computer department organized a project competition.
In the project competition of the Computer department, a total 20 teams participated. The evaluation of the project is done by both jury members according to rubrics. For this Technical Project Competition total 2 colleges participates these are YBIT and Dr.D.Y.Patil Polytechnic, Kasba Bavda, Kolhapur out of these and the Winner Project is “Smart Classroom” from YBIT whereas “Assistify : Access your mobile Remotely” runners up are from Dr.D.Y.Patil Polytechnic, Kasba Bavda, Kolhapur.
All the successful teams were felicitated with Memento, certificates and cash prizes of Rs.3000 & Rs.2000 respectively. Advocate Asmita Sawant Bhonsle, chairperson of Shri Yashwantrao Bhonsale Education Society & Sunetra Fatak, administrative coordinator was present for the valedictory function. Department heads Prashant Kate, Dhandekar Ravi took sincere efforts to make this event more successful.

02/03/24, Computer Department of YBIT(Polytechnic Wing)arranged small felicitation program for the Students who actively participated in 51th state level Science Expo ,also facilitated students won prize in project competition organize by Konkansad Live News Channel On the occasion of 10th Anniversary celebration and students who prize in Project Expo 2K24 held at SPK Mahavidyalay, Sawantwadi.Felicitation program was done by Hon.Vice Principal G.A. Bhosle sir. He guided, encouraged and congratulated all students. He also congratulated all staff members for their efforts. For this program all staff members of the computer department were present.

Industrial visit at " SIBIC Business Incubator, Kolhapur " on 10/02//2024
On Date 10th Feb 2024 , Third year Diploma computer engineering students were visited *Siddham Innovation and Business Incubation center ,Kolhapur the first incubation Center in Kolhapur district and western region .During the visit students were very well guided by the Mr Satyam Shinde,Mr.Ansari sir and his team.In this visit students were actually learned the meaning of incubation,Incubation process,the IT project incubation,and the funding process for these type of startup or ideas .Students were also get the actual process ,practical work and project implementation in incubation centre,Students raised many doubts during the visit. Visit was very beneficial for all students in order to gain knowledge about incubation and Entrepreneurship regarding with computer related ideas and startup .Total 57 students were present for this visit .The entire visit is successfully organized and conducted by the faculty members Mr. S.M.Mayekar, Mrs.Teja Gavandi ,Miss.Grishma Desai and Mr.Vishwanath Gawade

on date 17th Jan 2024 , Second year Division A Diploma Computer Engineering students were visited *iNet Solution,Sawantwadi the leading Network provider in the Sindhudurg district .During the visit students were very well guided by the Mr Aniket sawant and his team.In this visit students observed actual broadcasting,Networking Devices, Networking cables,signal Transmission,Device Maintenance,servers, Networking device management.Students were also get the information about the portal management and Local Distribution of Internet Services,Students raised many doubts during the visit. Visit was very beneficial for all students in order to gain hands-on practices about the splicing of Fibre optics cable and Data Distribution.

Then Mr T.C.Mhapankar introduced the guest to the students and then the session started .Sir explained the power of AI in various fields, in very simple and understandable language. He also explained how to protect your data and network from cyber threats.
At first he explained the term AI i.e. Artificial intelligence in simple language. Then he covered various points related to AI regarding Data security.
He shared his knowledge regarding How AI can boost your defence against cyber threats.
He also discussed Types of AI, Educational AI and AI's language Learning and gave ideas about what Prompt Engineering is.
He shared his valuable knowledge and his AI related work with our students .
150 students attended this session and all the computer department staff- Mr. Dhandekar sir, Mr.Mayekar sir, Mrs Gawandi madam, Ms.G.M.Desai madam were present in this session.and the session was concluded by Mr. T.C.Mhapankar Sir.
